help me pick a good movie to watch!?

I wouldn't call myself a movie "buff". I love movies. More so, I love good movies. I like a little bit of over the top action sometimes, I love horror, and sometimes a mix of both is nice. But I really love a movie that is great on all fields. Before I say I love a movie, it has to be brilliantly written, cast/acted, and a top notch music score doesn't hurt either :D

I'm kind of picky. My friends call me a movie snob, but that's realllyy reallly not the case. Truth is, I know JACK about movies, and I don't claim otherwise. I just love good movies. Sometimes I hate what people call good.. So i don't know. Anyway..

I'm hoping some of you can suggest some great movies to me to check out. Chances are if it was made between 1980-2011 I've seen it.. BUT there's tons of movies that I've only just discovered recently. I'll list some of my favorites so you know what to suggest:

(in no particular order)

Good Fellas
Casino
Pulp Fiction
Barton Fink (anything by Cohen Bros, really)
Fight Club
American History X
Reservoir Dogs
There will be blood
Henry Poole is Here
Donny Darko
--
As you can see from the above, I'm one of those boring people who likes "talkers". Long and drawn out don't worry me one bit. I like character development.

Movies I hate:

Avatar (i don't even know where to start)
American Pie (or any cliche college movie about a bunch of retards trying to get laid)
Tron Legacy (the only highlight was Jeff Bridges.. everything else was too focused on CG effects)
Not another "_____" movie (all five hundred of then)
Pirates of the Caribbean (all of them.)

---
That should give you a decent idea of my movie interests :D

Thanks! looking forward to seeing some suggestions

Have you seen the original "Tron (1982)"? I didn't like the sequel, either, but I like the original. It was the first movie to really use CGI, but it's got a good story and I don't think the CGI overwhelms the story.

My list will include movies made after 1980. There are certainly one or two good ones that you haven't seen, yet.
