I understand that at times a kiss is necessary but why so much sex? especially when so many times it just seems completely unnecessary. It is like why do we need to see that, for what reason?
and it's so demeaning to the actresses as well. Why should she be naked or kiss a random guy?
These things are special and private only.

Everybody is selling "sex sells", and yes it does.

But it goes beyond that, film want it or not is art, would you censor art or sculptures that depict nudity?

Writers and filmmakers are artists expressing their views thru a lens, and if their views contain sexuality or eroticism, what shouldn't they show it?

It's not like actors are forced to do this scenes or that people are being forced to watch them, but you can't censor an industry because YOU have a problem with it, that's what Nazis and communist do.

Art should be free and uncensored, I don't think you have watched many European films where nudity is almost always part of the story, if you want to change the world, you choose the wrong battle.

Besides, people are so hypocritical, they see people, sometimes even kids being blown apart in a violent movie, but that's okay, you see a pair of breasts, or private parts and people yell bloody murder.

Remember what John Lennon said:

"We live in a world where we have to hide to make love, but violence is practiced in broad daylight."

Yes but the thing with movies are your supposed to see the characters special and private lives, so you can relate/connect with the characters. The reason so much sex is on TV it's because like it or not people like this private side of people in romances comedies etc. I also don't tend to think these movies are demeaning to women i mean "chick flicks" are movies girls like to watch and they are usually romances with kisses, sex and a really happy ending. If women found this stuff demeaning then surely the audience of it would not be mostly women.

Let's face it, they put it in movies because many people want to see such stuff. Like they say "sex sells." You are right in that it need not be shown as a real integral part of most movies, they do seem like it is tossed in just to satisfy the voyeuristic attraction to some viewers. But on the other hand, as in the real world, sex is an important part of life and living, so to include some aspects of it in movies does seem kinda natural. But there are many other aspects of real life that do not make the movies (reading books, doing the dishes, sleeping - I mean really sleeping), so again, why put sex in the movies - simply because it sells. I do not feel too bad for the actors/actresses - that is their job, and they can refuse roles and any scnes that they really do not wanna do. Anyway, that is how I see it.

Other writer is correct the world is obsessed with sex. Quite amazing really for such an over-rated occupation which only lasts 1/2 hour at most. I can think of lots of other things which are just as or more exciting and last a lot longer.

(Punk chick) Our society is obsessed with sex? No... Try again. More like sex is an important part of human life. We cant help it. Evolution or God or whatever you believe in made us that way to keep the species alive. So we are always think about it, and it's been in our art for thousands of years. With that being said you can do more with a **** scene, love scene.. In a film then on television for the most part. So people take advantage of that.... And you're asking why you need to see it. The filmmaker isn't thinking about why you need to see it. He or she is thinking about making their story, their piece of art on screen, and if they want to do something with sex then they can, maybe they feel like its necessary to the story. Often times it is. Or maybe the story was based on true events. Either way it's not about what you want to see and what you see as private or not.. It's about what the artist wants to do.

Because our society is obsessed with sex. It kinda sux

Rob, actually we are addicted to sex. Sex sells. Films, tv shows, advertisements, we are constantly bombarded by social media with sex. Each & everyone of us here today are here because of sex. But your trying to assert that because sex is an innately necessary part of life, we are not obsessed with it? That's premature. I'm obsessed with sex, u are, everyone is...in fact our society is more obsessed than ever. Even small children feel compelled to dress in 'sexy' attire.
