the title has the word "flowers for ?" maybe came out in late 90's it a story about stem cell testing maybe used on monkeys in the movie they all fell into coma.... but he did fall in love with a girl...what is this movie or book called

There was a movie loosely based on the short story "Flowers for Algernon". The movie, from 1968, was called "Charly".



Also a 2000 TV movie called "Flowers for Algernon".



Update: I think Shannon is alluding to the film "Altered States" (1980), starring William Hurt, not Jeff Bridges, but that sounds even less like what you're describing than either of the two movies I suggested.

Wikipedia really seems to focus on the story and not the TV movie that you might have seen. Again, I haven't seen that version and hadn't even heard of it. I will watch for it but don't expect to like it as much as "Charly".



I haven't seen this version, but I know that I love the original story and the film "Charly" with Cliff Robertson and Claire Bloom. You might want to look into that.
