I have to agree with most of everyone on the 'survey line' . It does consider on what you call old. My Favorite movie was 'Clash of the Titans' (June 12, 1981). I like most movies that are sci-fi/(adventerous), dramatic, fun, loveing, comical, sometimes scary, and with a slight puzzlement, all in One Scenerio.

Most of Humphrey Bogart's movies with To Have and Have Not, The Big Sleep and The Maltese Falcon leading the pack. Yes, I like Casablanca, I just happen to like those others more.

It's hard to say

And it depends on what you call old.

I'm a movie buff with an archive of about 25,000 movies from 1898 to last month.

Perhaps Cassablanca (I still cry)

Gone with the wind

Charge of the Light Brigade (the Errol Flynn one)

The Hunchback of Notre Dam (Charles Laughton)

Too many to list.

Tonight, it's "Casablanca". Tomorrow night it may be "The Wizard of Oz" (the older one from 1939) or perhaps "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre", "The Long Hot Summer" (from 1958), or "The Crawling Eye", or something completely different, but tonight it's "Casablanca"; Yvonne (Madeline LeBeau) didn't have much of a part but she certainly is pretty. Ilsa (Bergman) isn't really the center of the pic like they wanted her to be but she did ok. So, the movie is starting. Here's lookin' at you, kid.

Define "old". Star Wars came out in 1977. Does that count as "old"?

I guess, to be safe, I'll name the oldest movie I like: "12 Angry Men" starring Henry Fonda.

any "Walt Disney era" Disney movies (guaranteed to be in the unfortunately long lost and bygone era of G-Rated and family fare movies... No violence, foul language and cursing, sex, cruelty) ...

Sound Of Music; Mary Poppins; My Fair Lady; Parent Trap -starring Haley Mills- including the hard to find "Hawaiian Honeymoon"; Somewhere in Time; Holiday Inn; White Christmas; Miracle on 34th Street; Yours, Mine, and Ours-( with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda); Singing In the Rain; Meerkat Manor; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; all the Air Bud movies; all the original Christmas cartoon specials, with Burl Ives, Fred Astaire and other voices; all the Charlie Brown movies;

Magic of Lassie; With 6, You Get Eggroll; Desk Set; Guess Who's Coming to Dinner; Because of Winn Dixie; What's Up, Doc?; Somewhere In Time; many other movies (and TV shows) of this same type and ilk.)

I'm quite sure that many reading this (not totally inclusive) list will laugh and sneer; however, I'm just as sure that many will smile and agree with my choices

On The Waterfront: Because it was at a happy time when my family were traveling from Quincy MA on a trip to New Hampshire

and we heard it was a good movie and also we saw Marlon Brando for the first time. It has an all star cast with Eva Marie Saint

Lee J Cobb, Karl Maldon and Rod Steiger and many others. Since then my family have all died except my brother who never calls or

writes since our mother died in 99. I still watch many old movies on Turner Classic Movies because they rely on Plot, Good

Acting, and Character Development instead of tricks and technology.

The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Mary Poppins, Grease, Barbarella, Star Wars, E.T., Citizen Kane, Gone With The Wind, A Clockwork Orange, Casablanca, The Godfather 1 and 2, The Exorcist, Forbidden Planet, All about Eve, Imitatation of life, Wuthering Heights, House of Wax, Rosemary's Baby, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Blow-up, The Long, Long Trailer, Gentleman prefer Blondes, Rebel without a cause, The Nutty Proffessor (obviously the original) The Red Shoes, Cabaret, The Ten Commandments (i'm not religious at all, but it's a damn good movie), The Good, The Bad and the Ugly-there's way too many to name! but those are a few of my favorites.

The 'Thin Man' films starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles, a dashing private detective and his rich, glamorous wife.

They go around solving crimes (while drunk as skunks) bickering with each other and everyone else.

There's a total of six movies, filmed between 1934 and 1947.

Not sure what genre they'd be. To me, they're action/romance/comedy crime dramas with witty writing and brilliant performances. .
