Question:
Is it true that Severus Snape is Harry Potter's biological father?

In the middle of the film (and the book as well) Severus says to Dumbledore: "She thinks is his" referring that Lily thinks her son was James'... later, when Snape commissions his patronus with Harry, Albus asks him: "you? after so much time?"

Also, when they're at King's Cross, Harry asks Albus if he regards as curious that both patronus, Severus' and Lily's, were the same (silver doe) and that his was a deer... Dumbledore replies it was nothing curious... :O can someone really answer to this important question please? based on real facts or the like.... many thanks :)

Yes, Severus Snape WAS Harry's father. I have read all the books and I have seen all the movies. I have come to the conclusion that Snape is in fact Harry's father. I think that everyone wants to believe that a woman could not love two men but I believe that Lily, Harry's mom loved two men. I think that it makes the books and movies not so vanilla. The Harry Potter books needed something to spice them up and I think that Snape being Harry's dad was the unexpected spice.

My answer to this is in two parts as to share my input.

Part I

I personally have not read the books. Nor, do I pretend to be an expert on this subject. However, I hav an educated answer to this debate and why I like this post.

The books from what I gather from sources have made it quite clear that Snape is undoubtedly NOT Harry's Father.

But, I feel the films have given us a (what I'm calling) a "what if" idea to the thought that it is very possible that Harry's Mother had an affair. James still raised Harry even though he was Snapes biological son. Lily stayed with James which undoubtedly made Snape jealous. Part of the reasons why Snape disliked James so much and said so in words to Harry.

Another question that arises in the movie is what Dumbledore and Snape discuss about in secrecy about Harry not being allowed to know...? Then Snape showing his patronus charm, Dumbledore then says "you after all this time?"

No, James is Harry's father, not Snape. But from both Snape's and Lily's childhood to the present, Snape has been in love with Lily. Which is the likely cause for the same patronus.

Severus Snape and Lily Evans were best friends when they were younger. James Potter is Harry Potter's biological father. Severus and Lily have unrequited love. Severus loved Lily, but Lily may have loved him back, but he screwed up by calling her a bad name "mudblood." Their patronuses are the same because he loved her and would continue loving her until the day he died, which was what he did. He helped Harry throughout his years of Hogwarts (invisible to everyone but Dumbledore) for his love for Lily. The one time that Snape was revealed to have saved his life in the series (outside of the memories that Harry saw), Dumbledore said that James saved his life, so he repayed him by saving Harry's life. Dumbledore constantly used the fact that Snape loved Lily and was partly responsible for her death to get anything that he wants from Snape, such as protecting Harry and killing Dumbledore. In canon (book verse/movie verse), Snape and Lily never had any sexual intercourse of any kind. This pairing is very popular in fanfiction ( I enjoy reading them Snape as Harry's father/ Lily/Snape pairing (unsexual). There is a lot more information in the book than the movie. The book was a lot more straightforward about what went on in his memories. The movie scene was a bit too choppy for me. Sorry for any spoilers. The scene where Snape called Lily a "mudblood" was cut from the movie, but partly placed in the movie. It is in the fifth book, during is lesson with Snape.

Severus is not Harry's father. It was not brought up throughout the whole movie. Severus was friends with Lily before they went to Hogwarts. They stopped being friends after he called her a mudblood and she never forgave him. Severus became a spy after she died and promised to protect Harry because he loved Lily so much. In the book Harry is described as looking exactly like James except he has his mothers eyes. If Harry was his child that would mean that Lily had Harry during Hogwarts. Lily didnt have him until years after they graduated. If this was true people would have already figured this out and JK Rowling would have mentioned it.

No. I think severus said 'he thinks he's hers' or something like that referring to the prophcy about voldemort and harry potter. And he has a doe patronus like lilys because he loved her even though lily loved james. After she died severus still loved her after all that time. Harrys patronus was a stag while his mother was a doe and father a stag. Severus loved lily, but tthey never had a relationship besides a friendship early on.

James is Harry's biological father. snape hated james since school. The truth is that snape was suppose to be together with lily but lily refused but she was with James instead. Snape was protecting harry potter all this time because he wanted to be with lily in first place.

WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP ASKING THIS?! NO! NO HE IS NOT!

*calms down*

Severus said that because the prophecy said that the one to either kill or be killed by Voldemort would be Neville or Harry, and Voldemort thought it was Harry. VOLDEMORT thought that Harry was the one that the prophecy was about, which it was.

Snape's patronus is a doe. Like Lily's because he loved her so much. She was his happy thought.

Besides, Harry's dad was an animagus that turned into a stag, and Harry's patronus is stag.

Snape is not harry's father

he simply fell in love with Lily so much that he has the same patronus charm as her and he goes against Voldemort When voldemort kills lily.

No, Piton and Lily were just good friends, Piton fell in love with her, but she considered him just a friend, so Harry's dad is James, the man who Lily married

Wouldn't that make Lily a whore? She slept with Snape while she was married to James?

Yes. Snape is Harry Potters father.

The movie says it all. Even in the end when they are all around him in spirit, he just waives at James. (This is after we find out that Snape is Harry's father)

Its why he named his son after Snape and Dumbledore. His father and person like a father.

Dont listen to the people harping on about the books to movie, they are just jelous because they wasted so much time reading the books when the movie says it all. Its right there in 3D!

Just like Darth Vader is Luke's father, Snape is Harry's.
