Harry Potter 3 why does Sirius Black want to kill Harry?

im sooo lost why does Sirius Black want to Kill Harry Potter and then ends up liking him at the end??

He never wanted to kill Harry. He wanted to kill Ron's rat who was really Peter Pettigrew--- the man who betrayed and killed Harry's parents (Sirius' best friends).

Headmaster, you are absolutely correct. Sorry but if you are having trouble understanding why sirius is doing what he is doing, either you haven't read the books or you missed it in the book. He is not trying to kill harry that is what people think because it is said he is the one that betrayed Harry's parents. But in the book you see that sirius is caught standing above rons bed one night in the boy's dorm, it is ron he drags down the tunnel, ron happens to be holding his rat at the time. Sirius himself explains that he was after the rat the whole time because he knew it was Pettigrew because of his lack of a toe when he saw the weasleys picture in the daily prophet while he was in azkaban. He knew pettigre was alive then and residing with the wealsey's. He only broke out for that reason he intended to kill pettigrew because he knew it was pettigrew that gave the Potter's away and not him. Plus he was chucked in azkaban in the first place because pettigrew staged the stunt that made it lookl like sirius killed him and the many muggles standing around after the potter's deaths

Aaaanywho. Basically, Sirius Black never wanted to kill Harry. Sirius is Harry's godfather; he was best friends with Harry's dad. But Sirius was framed by Peter Pettigrew, who was the traitor that caused the death of Harry's parents. When Sirius recognized Peter (who was now in the form of a rat, namely Scabbers; Ron's rat) in the Daily Prophet, he went after him. Because Harry is always with Ron (and thus Scabbers), it seemed that Sirius wanted to kill Harry. But he didn't, he wanted to kill Peter Pettigrew. Aka Scabbers.

First of all Sirius black is completely innocent. He was framed by the real traitor of lily and James potter. Sirius was blamed and taken to Arkabasan a wizard jail. Where demeneters suck your soul. So Sirius broke out. Then he met up with Harry potter. He explained that scabbers was Peter petigrew Sirius failed to kill Peter.they met with lip in and snape Harry disarms snape. Anyway until spoiler alert they keep in contact until book 5 where Sirius dies

I really hope this doesn't ruin it for you. Sirius is trying to kill Peter because Sirius was accused of killing him and the Potters. But the truth of the matter was that Sirius didn't tell "The Dark Lord" where the Potters were hiding Peter did. Because towards the end Sirius told the Potter to involved Peter and not him. I can't remember why but it does tell you towards the end.

Sirius black doesnt want to kill harry potter in the first place. he wants to kill peter pettigrew(sirius, james and lupin's bestfriend) because peter pettigrew sold james and lily potter to voldermort! the people around them only thought that sirius wants to kill harry because peter pettigrew set sirius up! peter wants to let the people think that sirius sold the potters to voldermort and not him(peter) and + sirius is harry's god father. he's trying to protect harry. just watch the movie.
