Just wanted to get an idea of what you guys think. Personally, its hard for me to choose, because both were absolutely amazing in my opinion. But I have to say, Dear John was MUCH more intense than The Notebook! It was a very touching movie. While i was watching it, I could feel the pain and emotions going through the characters, which really captured my heart! Sometimes when i even think about the movie, i could start crying lmao.

Although, I still think The Notebook is a classic one which will never be forgotten. It was a trademark for all sad romance movies, and it dominated all of them!

Btw, idk about you guys, but if you listen to the dear john soundtrack, the last song on the album, called "Dear John theme," is THE saddest song ive ever heard lmao. It makes me weep everytime.

So, what do you guys think?

I think the Notebook was a lot better, I can't believe so many people like Dear John. I was getting bored towards the Movie, because it just kept going and All the heart Break and It all just lasted too long and Didn't really have a point at the end, for everyone to be like " Ohhhhhh!". It was they magically saw each other somewhere, which is really unrealistic since it sorta looked like they were in Paris or something like that. But I think the Notebook was way more touching and the actors were utterly amazing. I dont Know, but Notebook is just one of those movies that stay in your heart till your gone.

They were both incredible in different ways. Dear John was so different from the book, which annoyed me so I was only focusing on that rather than how good the movie was. When I looked back, I realized that it really was amazing, so I'm seeing it again. It was a heartbreaker and it was truly amazing. The Notebook changed love stories. I always think it is the classic and its going to be impossible to beat but Dear John was amazing. I would never be able to choose but I think they are truly incredible in different ways. Both actors in each of the films had amazing chemistry which made the stories really believable.

that song always makes me cry and every time i see the dear john or notebook trailer, i burst into tears.

I saw Dear John last night and I absolutely loved it. If I had to choose, I would agree that Dear John was a very intense and heartbreaking movie. There are certain characteristics in both The Notebook and Dear John that make it amazing. When I watched Dear John, I could feel their emotions through the screen (idk if that sounds weird or not) and I didn't feel that way when I watched the Notebook. So, to answer your question, i say Dear John.

PLUS, Channing Tatum is so freakin gorgeous and seeing him cry, made me cry
