Harrison Bergeron

This little known 1995 “Made For TV” film is an intelligent, superb, and criminally undervalued contribution to the Sci-Fi film genre.

========

Silent Running (1972)

The loner crew member of a spaceship harbouring Earth's last nature reserves goes renegade when he is instructed to jettison his beloved forests and return home. Accompanied only by three robots, he ponders the fate of his last pocket of nature in this far-looking speculative film.

=======

Pitch Black (2000)

A group of marooned space travelers struggle for survival on a seemingly lifeless sun-scorched world.

=======

Brazil (1985)

In an Orwellian vision of the future, the populace are completely controlled by the state, but technology remains almost as it was in the 1970's. Sam Lowry is a civil servant who one day spots a mistake in one of the pieces of paperwork passing through his office. The mistake leads to the arrest of an entirely innocent man, and although Lowry attempts to correct the error, it just gets bigger and bigger, sucking him in with it

=================

eXistenZ (1999)

Jennifer Jason Leigh stars as a game designer who creates a virtual-reality game that taps into the players' minds.

=================

Twelve Monkeys (1995)

In a future world devastated by disease, a convict is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.

=================

Scanners (1981)

A scientist sends a man with extraordinary psychic powers to hunt others like him.

=================

Dark City (1998)

A man struggles with memories of his past, including a wife he cannot remember, in a nightmarish world with no sun and run by beings with telekinetic powers who seek the souls of humans.

=================

The City of Lost Children(1995)

A scientist in a surrealist society kidnaps children to steal their dreams, hoping that they slow his aging process

=================

Quatermass" (1979)

After the mysterious destruction of the new space station, young people find themselves drawn to a stone circle in England

=================

Lifeforce (1985)

A space shuttle mission investigating Halley's Comet brings back a deadly cargo

=================

Pi (1998)

A paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature.

=================

Oktober (1998) (TV)

An accidental discovery of a drug for the mass unconscious and a naive schoolteacher's ardor lead to personal and almost global disaster.

=================

"Ultraviolet" (1998) (mini)TV-Series

Michael Colefield is unwillingly thrust into the nightmarish world of vampires when he discovers a secret.

Depends. Does SF stand for Sci Fi or San Francisco?

For Sci Fi, there's Star Wars, The Matrix, Star Trek, Alien, Transformers (although more action than sci fi). So many more.
