I'm just curious because my uncle is a teacher & he's in charge of the prom committee & their theme is a night in Hollywood. He was wondering what the theaters do with all the posters & standees that promote upcoming attractions, because he could use them as decorations for this theme. If anybody really knows what they do with them, or if you can contact people about it let me know! Thanks.

The studios don't really like theatres to give that stuff away, they would actually prefer it's destroyed after the movie.

I run a movie theatre and we just put all the posters into storage. The standees and bigger items get shredded and put in the trash.

I think ive seen this asked before and the answer was that if you ask like a manager then they'll contact you when theyre done with the poster and give it to you or just hand it over right there

At my local cinema they keep them in storage or whatever and you can book posters. I've gotten 3 from there so I'd say just ask at your local cinema and they'd probably have a few for you. Good Luck.

They give them away usually. You can always inquire at the front desk. I know a few people who were able to get some of the stands.
