Back to the Future: How is Doc alive in 1955?

In BTTF part 3, Marty and Doc uncover the fact that Doc was murdered in 1885 by Buford Tannen.

Yet, the 1955 Doc is still alive.

If he was murdered in 1885, how is this possible?

The 1955 Doc is the "orginal" Doc, not the 1885 Doc who has aged another 70 years.



The 1885 Doc is actually older than the 1955 Doc, because the 1885 Doc has experienced all of the time travel (first 2 movies) that we have seen up until that point.

1885 - Doc brown get shoot (later changed by Marty)
