Johnny Depp is really good in ALL of his movies but one of his best and one of my favorites is Pirates of the Caribbean. He made Jack Sparrow Jack Sparrow. It wouldn't have been the same without him.



Have you ever seen the Inside the Actors Studio with Depp? With each character he plays he incorporates so many roles into it to make the character seem like a real person. He is so talented.

God, there are so many. Johnny Depp is good in all of his films, but Id have to say my favourites are Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands and Ichabod Crane. I cant comment on Sweeney Todd because I havent seen it yet, but I cant wait til it comes out

Maybe Inspector Aberline in From Hell. It is not a nice movie to watch, but it was an impressive performance and I haven't seen any of the Pirates of the Carribean movies. Then again, Johnny Depp has so many good performances, it is not easy to pick one I think.

Has anyone ever seen him at 18 years of age in the movie "Private Resort" - His first (Co-starring role)? My husband worked stunts on the film and was in acting class for two years with Johnny before he went to CA to seek his fortune and fame.

Secret Window -- His acting was incredible in that movie.



My second choice would be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If I watched the movie without knowing Johnny Depp starred in it, I never would have guessed that he played Willy Wonka. His performance was amazing.

It is not Jack Sparrow and it is not Pirates, of that I'm sure!

He showed great acting in Blow, Fear & Loathing, From Hell and so on. I guess he deserved prices for all of these but he gets his only oscar-nominee for this pirate-role. Don't get me wrong: he was good in that and the films itself are ok, but in almost every film he did, he was much better from an acting point of view.
