There is a much longer version that tells a deeper story-within-a-story about the knights and their history before the time of Arthur through the eyes of Lancelot's father, who, is only seen for a few moments at the beginning in the short version (when the Romans come for the boy Lancelot). It sets the history of the knights through his life and what he saw and begins when he mentions the "horses are fallen knights. They have seen what awaits you, and will guide you". There is a lot more about Bors, Dagonet, Tristram, Gaiwan, and Galahad when they were young boys and still training. Also, more about Merlin and the Woads. It is called King Arthur Director's Cut.

The long version shows how the knights first met as boys and grew up and lived together while training. Later, when they begin as knights, Arthur proves his ability and earns their trust when he first takes command of them. There are flashback scenes of older knights who survived past battles, like Lancelot's father played by Clive Russell (different guy than Clive Owens) who also played in The 13th Warrior with Antonio Banderas. None of this is in the shorter version. The longer version is 10 times better.

Yeah, there's a longer- much better version called the Director's Cut.
