I'm going to see Harry Potter and DH: Part 2, but I haven't seen the Order of the Phoenix, the Half Blood Prince, or DH Part 1. Will I still get it? If not, can someone please give me the necessary back story to understand Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two?

You kinda have to see them.

But since you haven't to understand the story:

- Harry potter created an army to defeat voldemort.

- Draco malfoy and his family are have sided with voldemort (but you can tell Draco doesn't want to be there)

- Harry and Ginny Weasley like each other.

- Ron and Hermione like each other.Love/hate relationship very cute

- Harry Ron hermione have left hogwarts(it's not safe and they need to kill voldemort)

-Snape killed dumbledore therefore is the new headmaster of hogwarts. Harry at this stage really really hates him:

and what the deathly hallows are about? Harry potter trying to kill voldemort and vise versa.

How he Harry trying kill him? By killing horcruxes.

What are horcruxes? Since voldemort died and came backto life he put a spell on certain items then scattered them in very hard places to keep him alive, which if destroyed would kill him.

Harry,Ron an hermione are trying to find all of them and hopeully kill voldemort.

How's voldemort trying to kill him? He has the most powerful wand ever created, some sort of deathly hallows wand. The wand only shows it's true powers to it's owner (just remember that it's important in the movie)

That's pretty much what you missed and a whole lot more I just can't think atm haha.

I just watched part 2 today at the cinemas. It was AMAZING. But if you want to really userstand the story watch the other movies. It'll make alot more sense

Yes you need to else you won't be able to understand what is happening and why is it happening.? To clear out these doubts and to understand the story more thoroughly you should watch all the missing parts first before you go for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One to understand Part 2. Then only you can enjoy this upcoming flick fully.

YOU NEED TO WATCH THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE AND DEATHLY HALLOWS PART ONE TO UNDERSTAND PART TWO!

Ok so basically, Harry has to look for Voldemort's horcruxes and kill them. Horcruxes are things that Voldemort has put his soul into, so if his body is killed, he can still stay alive because he has his horcruxes. There are seven horcruxes altogether. Riddle's Diary (which Harry stabbed in the Chamber of Secrets), Mavolo's ring (it belonged to Voldemort's grandfather and Dumbledore killed it), Voldemort's snake, Voldemort's body, Ravenclaw's diadem, Ravenclaw's cup and Slytherin's locket. There's an epic fight between Voldemort, his death eaters and everyone at Hogwarts.

Btw, Bellatrix Lestrange killed Sirius Black and Dobby, Snape killed Dumbledore, betraying Dumbledore's trust. But I've read all the Harry Potter books and there's a slight twist with Snape in the end.

I would suggest you read the books first and then watch the movies because the movies left out so many important details that you won't know about if you only watch the movies. Don't get intimidated by the size of the books. Once you start reading them, you'll get into them and the time will go by fast. If you dont want to read them and just watch the other movies, then you should do a bit more of research on the subject of each movie.

Don't even bother seeing DH Part 2 without seeing the others (or even reading the books).

You should probably read the whole series or watch all of the movies... You'd get very confused by what's happening in part two if you haven't seen other movies.

YES because there are crucial parts in part 2 that you get in part one. So I would reccommend watching the 3 movies you listed in order to get everything!
