Yeah, so I want to see a rated R movie with my friend but were too young and don't look old enough (were 14). I refuse to sneak in because I'm against breaking the law and I don't care if you call me a chicken =.=. So yeah, if my dad bought the tickets, would it be all good? He wouldn't see the movie with us, but could he get us in and stuff?

Yes he can buy you guys the tickets at the box office and give permission and walk you to the ticket ripper.

Having him go in with you and alert the theater employees that you have permission should be sufficent.

They have to make sure you didn't buy them online or from the kiosk though,

The theaters in my area will not let you in if you are clearly underage, even if you already have a ticket. Sometimes, they even card you at the entrance of the movie. If there isn't someone taking a ticket at the entrance of each movie, you can always buy a ticket for another movie and then go see the R Rated one. It's really not that serious.

no. Most theaters (especially the nice ones) card people who even look young. I'm definitely way above the legal age and I still get carded at the movie theater.

When I was 15 my dad bought my friend and me R rated movie tickets and although we could just pick them up at he machine in the lobby, we were carded by the guard at the door. And we clearly weren't old enough so we had to leave.

yeah if he buys the ticket then you should be able to watch. i guess its about having the parents permission, that way some parent don't find out later that their kid was let in an R rated movie and come back to raise hell on the staff. my mom used 2 buy them 4 me and my friends, but our theater wasn't that strict cuz as long as someone bought the tickets and they were over age 18 then i could get in. i had older friends that bought mine sometimes. but that just depends on how strict ur theater is.

Sneaking in isn't breaking the law. There is no law involving movie ratings, just some suggestions by the MPAA. You're not breaking the law by sneaking in, but I don't mind that you don't want to.

If your dad walked up to the counter with you, then yeah. If you had the tickets without the adult, then maybe, based on how strict the theater is.

They should, but if they don't let you and you don't mind lying, you could get a ticket to a movie that is not rated R and after the person rips your ticket, go to the other movie instead. It worked for me many times>:)
