Buster Keaton, Fatty Arbuckle, The Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello, W.C. Fields, Bob Hope (OK he started 20 years after Chaplin, but he was active through that time).

11. Any comments you would like to make about Chaplin/Other performers/Comedy as a genre?

Chaplin was one of the pioneers of film and created whole new ways of using the fledgling medium. There's a whole paper in this question alone.
