Ok, well, I am a huge scary movie person...but the problem is...I don't get scared! I have watch all of these scary movies (EX: The exorcist, Nightmare on Elm street, basically all of the classic movies that have been said to be "The scariest movies of all time" and I have seen a couple of remakes of movies, but found them all to be stupid. So, my question is, what is the scariest movie out there? I laughed at The exorcist, didn't get scared when I watched The Blair Witch Project, and certainly didn't cry out MOM HELP ME when I watched The Ring or Darkness Falls. Any sugguestions?

I don't find many movies scary either... but House Of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects are alright for scariness.

Along with Hostel, Wolf Creek, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Jeepers Creepers...

I agree with you on Exorcist, so maybe you need something more real. Have you seen The Strangers? Home invasion just bothers me (so maybe not scary, but try sleeping soundly after that). In the same group, Funny Games...ugh!

The Descent I thought was good, but then I was told it was because of the chicks that I thought that,..HA!

Stay away from slasher films; they are all cheesy. I think what you should do is ask yourself what scares you in real life. An excellent spider movie is the film "Arachnophobia", and that is more of a sci fi film than a horror flick. Newer horror films, while being fairly ridiculous, will be more frightening than older films, whose outdated filming technology will come off as low budget.

Silent Hill and 1408 are very very creepy. Those aren't teh kinds of movies where something pops out at you. They are the ones where a chill slowly creeps up your spine and stays with you after the movie is over. very scary.

Did you watch it at night with the lights off?

If the answer is no, then try watching it at night without any lights
