Chaplin's "City Lights".

If you only see one Chaplin film in your life............make it that one.

Brigadoon..........not for Gene Kelly, or Cyd Charisse.......but for Van Johnson. Do it for Van.

The Shawshank Redemption. The only reason this film did NOT sweep the Oscars, is because the competition was no less than Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks, at his HOTTEST....and the media machine totally behind Forrest Gump. Any other year..........Shawshank would have walked off with EVERYTHING. It was a travesty of film justice.

The Legend of 1900. Ditto. Its only crime? It came out a week after TITANIC.

While every critic on the planet was polishing James Cameron's knob........"Legend of 1900" played to empty houses, got ignored, and folded after a week. What a damn shame.

It would have gone down as one of Hollywood's BEST EVERRRRRRRRRRR----if anyone went to see it. Do yourself a favor..........find a copy and ENJOY.

Second Hand Lions. Everyone should live life like that.

Must See movies are rare and far and few inbetween. At least in US made movies. In this list I will try to list as many as possible and will format it as "Movie Title/Genre/Why It's A Must-See." I will also categorize between foreign and domestic movies starting with domestic.

US:

-Slingblade/Drama/Although it's a drama, it has no problem keeping you interested. Great movie.

-Django Unchained (and other Tarantino movies)/Action/All of his movies bloody, gory and ridiculous in the best of ways. With top-notch actors and always an original story.

-Les Miserables/Musical/Now, I'm a dude. I don't take a liking to musicals but this one was great. Singing, gunfire, love, comedy, all of it. Great cast and it hit all the notes.

-Lord Of The Rings (& Hobbit)/Action/Wonderful tales of Elves, Dwarfs, Wizards, Hobbits with some of the most epic battles and enticing storylines.

-Harry Potter/Action/More wizards with spells and crazy action and story in a fantastic new world. Just one of the greatest series ever.

-Toy Story/Animation/Yes, Toy Story. Only the best Pixar movie to ever come out. Nostalgia galore but no matter the age, an amazing classic.

-Leon: The Professional/Action/Kid Natalie Portman and Jean Reno as a Hitman who has a pet potted plant with a crazy maniac Gary Oldman. Amazing and fantastic Hitman movie.

-The Prestige/Drama & Mystery/One of the first movies before Inception that would give you a big what the f*ck moment and just have you amazed at what just happened. Performances and storyline are stellar.

-The Dark Knight Series (Christopher Nolan)/Action/It's Christopher Nolan. It's Christian Bale. There's also Morgan Freeman. It's a Batman series. Need I say more?

-Drive/Action/Ryan Gosling as a badass stunt-driver turned kinda Hitman? Despite the minimal talking and the more "artistic" take on cinema, the movie as fantastic with, I don't really say this, but a great soundtrack. It has a nice retro, neon feel as he's hitting people with hammers and heads get blown off. Slow to start but as the ball rolls, the action ensues.

Foreign:

-The Man From Nowhere/Korean/Action/Think Taken times 10. Then take that and Leon and make them have a lovebaby. Times that again by awesome. Amazing movie with some of the best action and just so many scenes of badassness.

-A Better Tomorrow (not to be confused with the chinese one)/Korean/Action & Drama/Just an amazing and stylish movie. With scenes of gunslinging action and some heart-tugging moments, definitely a must-see next to The Man From Nowhere.

-Infernal Affairs/Chinese/Action/Heard of the movie The Departed? Yeah? Well, that movie was based on this trilogy. Although The Departed was great with their mobsters, the original chinese version was much more stylish and intense. Great series.

-Oldboy/Korean/Action/An amazing movie with a weird and crazy storyline, it's a train-ride with bone-crunching sequences.

*Don't watch trailers for the foreign movies, they suck. Asians make great movies, garbage trailers. Just read the synopsis. And really...go watch these. Amazing movies.*
