If you had 2 scripts due to start filming at the same time, one is complete garbage which will obviously flop but pays millions, the other is a low budget independent film, only pays a few thousand but is going to be a guaranteed hit, which would you choose to appear in?

Being a chef myself i come into contact with many different assortments of dishes with almost human characteristics. It would be interesting to hear about and maybe even sample the dishes they mention to get a better insight of who they really are under all that stardom.

My questions are all for Michael Fassbender :-)

- Was it "hard" playing a robot in 'Prometheus'? (pun intended)

- Are you really planning on doing a movie with Martin Scorsese?

- What could make you stop smoking for good?

- Why are you insisting on wearing ugly tracksuits off-set?

- There's a certain rumor who keeps coming back all over the web: remotely true or total BS?

- Do you ever regret having done 'Angel' and 'Jonah Hex'?

- What's the most shameful thing you ever did besides dying your hair blond for this movie?

- According to you what's the best version of the 'Alien' franchise? Why?

- Since 'Shame' came out on screen, did you ever received any film offers from the porn industry?

- If you had to describe your best quality as an actor what would that be? (your Golf club doesn't count obviously)

- Who's the best director you've ever worked with? And the worst?

- Do you consider yourself as a romantic person or a huge player?

- Do you plan on being in every movie being made this year again?

- How many movie roles have you lined up so far?

- Who's the best actor ever: Brando or De Niro?

- Who would be the best director if you had to choose between Lumet, Scorsese and F.F. Copolla?

- Are you used to being famous yet?

- Are you really single at the moment?

Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender, simple question - why did you want to become actors and what was it that made you want to audition for the movie 'Prometheus'?
2012-03-12 06:27:05 UTC
Hi, my question is for both Charlize and Michael:

It has been pretty much established that Alien was a revolutionary movie, no just for introducing shocking scenes, and ground breaking make up, special effects and all that, but also when it comes to both acting and directing. Would you consider that Prometheus, being a prequel to Alien, will represent the same thing for culture and cinematic history? And on which points would you base your answer?

Thank you.

My question for Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender, would be:

Do you have any insightful trivia regarding your characters in Prometheus that you would care to share, such as direction or personal perspective that might be interesting to the viewer who might not otherwise need to know when they see the film?

Why would I ask?

Because I greatly admire Ridley Scott's Blade Runner and Alien film; And also because he hides little details to his movies that may not be obvious upon first viewing, but oftentimes become surprisingly enriching to the film upon discovery!
2012-03-15 07:38:05 UTC
Well the day thats in it (17 March, Paddys day) and seeing as how a good portion of Michael is Irish, an Charlize has her own experience with the emerald Isle. Would David and Vickers share a pint of Guinness before venturing off to any temple or derelict?
2012-03-13 16:49:48 UTC
To Charlize and Michael, knowing the history and love of the Alien franchise, in-particular the original Alien, and knowing Mr. Scott was very precise on making this a movie of it's own with as he says "Alien DNA" do you believe yourselves that this movie stands on it's own but adds depth and grandeur to the story originally conceived in 1979. Also, do the characters shine without people wishing there was an Ellen Ripley involved, LOL, since she was the original heroine.

I would ask Michael & Charlize that since in my viewing, I see they are stepping into more sifi, horror & thriller based movies, has filming this movie "Prometheus" been a huge challenge for them both since it interferes with the "Alien" trilogy that was filmed before there time as an actor & actress?

Because I love seeing Charlize as Aeon in "Aeon Flux" & Michael as Magneto in "X-Men: First Class". In my knowledge, I think those were the most sifi I've seen them go in there acting careers. So for them to be starring in a prequel from a trilogy, it has to be a challenge to understand the environment of the 4 "Alien" movies. But I cant wait to see and experience the drive myself watching these 2 actors/actresses film together for a legacy movie :)
2012-03-12 04:04:16 UTC
A question for Charlize:

My favorite shot in the trailers released so far is the one of Charlize's character desperately running through the spaceship interiors as the camera keeps pace with her, much like Sigourney Weaver tearing through the spaceship corridors at the end of ALIEN. Were the interior Prometheus spaceship sets built like the ones in ALIEN, wherein the cast could actually walk around in them (and in some cases run for long stretches), even being able to go down adjoining corridors?
2012-03-16 19:04:04 UTC
1: Is Prometheus a more horror oriented movie like Alien or more action oriented like Aliens? By looking at the teaser trailer i get the impression that its more like an action movie rather than a horror/thriller movie.

2: Will this movie shed any light on the creation of the xenomorph (alien)?

3: Will the Yutani corp be featured in this movie?

4; Are the creature effects practical or cgi?

5: How long is the movie? I have an impression that this is an epic movie that will stretch out for about 2.5-3 hrs. Is it so?

2001: Space Odyssey - A question to all the actors

Ridley Scott has stated in the past that he was inspired by the realism and depth of story in "2001: Space Odyssey". The Aliens Quadrily has a three dimensional story which involves struggles between three entities. Ellen Ripley, Weyland yutani, and the Xenomorph. This three dimension aspect is similar to 2001: Space Odyssey's struggle between the explorers, the Monolith, and the Hal 9000. My question is, How do you think Prometheus will add to the depth of story telling in sci fi movies in general. Will we experience a deep level of story telling never before seen in sci fi?

What was it that attracted you to working on Prometheus? the script? the director? the cast?

Have you seen the previous Alien movies, and what did you think of them?

And how is this movie going to be different to them?

Will there be an X-men first class sequel?

Will there be a Hancock 2?

My question to Michale Fassbinder:

You're always playing brooding and complex leading characters, from Mr. Rodchester to Magneto, so was this role any different from what you usually do? And was this character more difficult for you or were you more at ease in this role?

For Charlize Theron:

You seem to play a lot of tough female characters in sci-fi movies, so your role in Prometheus makes a lot of sense. Do you enjoy sci-fi as a genre? And if so, what is about sci-fi that you enjoy?

For both:

What was the weirdest part of shooting? And what was the quirkiest thing about Ridley Scott as a director?
2012-03-16 14:16:26 UTC
I have a few questions for Mr. Fassbender:

I've read that you are going to be involved in Steve McQueen's Twelve Years A Slave. Is there any info you can give on who you'll be playing and what type of research you'll have to do to in order to prepare for this role? The book is a beautiful and intense narrative, I can't wait to see what Mr. McQueen will do for Solomon Northrup's tale.

I also heard that you have started your own production company, that's so cool! What kind of material interests you from a director/producer perspective? Do you want to step behind the camera one day and create your own stories?

You were wonderful in Shame and X-Men First Class, keep up the good work! :-)

Alien, and we all know that Prometheus has connections to it if only in our minds, shaped science fiction horror films as we know them today. How will you two (Michael and Charlize) help viewers experience the awe and terror your characters might? Can an android even feel on the same level as humans? Are you two up for the huge task?

i ask for Charlize Theron as was the experience of being in space in the world created by ridley scott as well as your character vickers? ( why ? because that Charlize Theron is one of the best actrises now and then you better know how was your experience working with the legendary director Ridley Scott and more in the genre that redefined science fiction)

i ask for Michael Fassbender as it was for you to play david how you felt going into space with ridley scott? (why? because I would like to know how it was that Michael Fassbender was based to play an android)

My question would be to both Charlize and Michael

When making this type of film do you wonder if there is something more out there

do you believe there is more to this world than meets the eye.

So what are your thoughts on there being another place where others we don't know about yet or may know due to Media reports sightings etc.

So do you think there is life on another Planet. Have you see anything to make you wonder!!!!

Exactly how much involvement did HR Giger have in the look of the movie, I know he was involved in some way but the misdirection regarding his participation almost gives the impression he did something big which is being kept secret for the release. Also. giving the tragic demise of Moebius, which new designers have been involved with the movie who stand out after the the insane talent involved in Alien (Giger, Moebius, Foss etc)

Did Ridley get out his pens for the movie and do some storyboards as well ?

Charlize, this isn't you first time stepping into sci-fi territory. As much as critics were divided with Aeon Flux, I found it to be a refreshing vision and an interesting adaptation that I would have loved to see more of. Unfortunately, there was a struggle to bring forth the director's true vision and it ended up being a shell of what it originally was as a result of lots of cuts being made and in trying to hasten the pace.

Are you nervous that Prometheus could go down a similar route with regards to cuts being made? And do you agree that an R rating would work in the film's favour especially when delivering a similar kind of intensity that was present in Alien?
?
2012-03-13 13:15:24 UTC
When working on a film like Prometheus, does it help to already have some cinematic context with which to ground yourself? Moreover, beyond the tangible and visual antithetical connections to the Alien universe, were there character and behavior connections that you tapped in to?

Do you think the movie will be remembered as long as movies like Casablanca, GWTW, or North by Northwest etc. or still be watched in 50 years, or that you will be remembered as long as Clark Gable, Marilyn, Gary Cooper, Joan Crawford, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Katherine Hepburn, etc., or has the day of the exceptional movie gone along with men & women that will be remembered for as long as these actors have? Do people care about quality movies anymore, or are they dumbed down just like current entertainment and box office figures suggest, while studios only care about making a buck, not producing quality entertainment.

To Charlize: Do you feel intimidated by joining the Alien franchise, and is your character as despicable as Carter Burke in Aliens?

As actors, what did you learn and gain from the experience of collaborating with Mr. Scott, compared to working with other directors?

I'm asking, because I'm an independent filmmaker. Characters are the core of the best stories, but many directors don't ask actors questions. They dictate, shoot, and the end product comes out flat. It's not always a true creative collaboration. So, I'm curious as to how it worked out for both of you working with a true master like Sir. Ridley Scott.

Cheers,

The only thing I want to know is if there was any talk of Alien 5 after this film, if this film does well? I'm glad we're getting a semi-prequel and all but I hope it's not like a magician revealing his trick and thus ruining the trick overall. If the reason behind the aliens is revealed and no one like it - then it could ruin the other films... Any thought from either actors?

I'm guessing that it may not be accurate that your characters are going to be included but, if they are, how does it feel to be an action figure in a toy line that is going to be rabidly devoured by fans of the film? And, this may count as two questions, did both/either of you have any input into the NECA toy line? I understand this might be something you aren't at liberty to discuss now so, no harm, no foul.

do you think 2085 is a realistic time period to expect to be star trecking and liasing with aliens given that the space shuttle and iss programs have ended and theres no real money to replace either in the wake of the world economic and hostilityclimate and the middle east dictatorship cullings? also there are obvious problems with china, north korea and now russia passing on power from pillor to post. space travel is going to be nothing but a fantacy and topic of fiction for centuries to come and may never happen for earthlings!

My question for the both of you, in your opinion, are we as a race of flawed yet curiously inquisitive by nature, beings of the universe, ready for contact with other species from other planets? There has been much controversy over 20th century fox cutting down films to make them PG-13's aimed at young teenagers just to bring in the masses and of course 'money'. To both of you...1 minute quiz... Within 1 minute how many words of 4 letters of more can you make from the word PROMETHEUS... the loser buys the beers.

My question is for both, Charlize and Michael.

How did you know you wanted to become actors? What moved you enough to work through all the hardships and become one?

In Alien, John Hurt's famously messy deathscene was pretty much the signature scene for the film. Does Prometheus have such an iconic scene and how messy was it?!

Michael: Would you go on a date with me?

As "Prometheus" was based upon ancient Greek mythology, I would ask which Greek God they would most like to be and why?
2012-03-12 07:36:52 UTC
I would ask Charlize if she would like to take me out for a drink cos she's lovely, I wouldn't ask Michael anything cos he's not as pretty.

Were you scared? Because Sigourney Weaver said she was during the other ones.

I was scared when I watched all the other ones and it was always fun.

Either as a basis for your characters in the film, or as personal [soul] searching - when you think of our origins as a species, what excites you about the future considering a single mortal span is as much as you can reliably hope to experience from a current perspective - what development/evolution/augmentation will be/represent a defining moment in mankind's history for you?

In the film "The Prometheus" is a ship exploring space in the year 2085, and as a mythological figure Prometheus is the titan that gave fire to human kind and was punished for it by the gods.

My question is do you think that as man grows ever closer to exploring the stars, are films such as "Prometheus" exploring the ethical dilemmas of space travel or is the message meant to be that we are overreaching ourselves to emulate gods?

Charlize and Michael, you are respectively my 2 favourite actors. To begin: Charlize and Michael, what effect it makes shoot in the science fiction movie the most ambitious of these last 10 years, more particularly beside Ridley Scott, which marked the world of the cinema with Alien and Blade Runner? How are you fill with your role, and how did you develop it with Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof?

Hello Gentlemen,

I'm not a big fan of Michael Fassbender, so my question goes to Charlize Theron.

Charlize Theron, what do you think about "Fox Film" have chosen you and not Noomi Noomi Rapace?

For the film director Ridley Scott would choose Noomi Noomi Rapace to be a protagonist in the film.

Health and hugs to you.

"Prometheus" as the saga "Alien" denouncing the dictatorship of the transnationals and their lust for profit, is not it also a criticism of Hollywood?

i would like to ask if they both suffered from Dystonia how would they communicate to their fans.

as i suffer from Dystonia it is difficult for me to talk to people without using aid such as a lightwriter or speak it and even pen and paper.

how would they learn their lines if unable to remember all, as my illness effects my short term memory

To Charlize Theron how much do you charge for sexy time?

For Michael: Roy Batty is one if the most compelling and "human" villains in film history. I read that your character, David, was influenced by him. In what way? I'm assuming David isn't an antagonist...
2012-03-17 10:50:33 UTC
Mmm, I'd ask Michael to have sex with me.

The Greek myth, wherein the gods punish Prometheus for giving fire to mortals, illustrates the consequences of pursuing "forbidden" or dangerous knowledge. Do you think your movie will encourage us to explore the unknown regardless of the cost, or will it frighten us into safety and stagnation?

As the storytellers of our time, do you feel a responsibility to make sure your movies carry a message that spurs us on to greatness and away from evil? Or is a movie only required to entertain?

For Michael Fassbender, about his previous movie Hunger: "What was it like having to crash diet for the role and how did you keep yourself mentally and physically strong throughout?"

For Charlize Theron: "Having so many different cultural backgrounds, your father being French, your mother, German and then being born in South Africa, how do you handle being so multicultural?"

Please pick me!! :)
