I've got a couple, I've already got
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Corpse Bride
and Edward Scissorhands.
I've also watched The World of Stainboy (I love the melancholy death of oyster boy book too), Sweeney Todd and Big Fish and want to get them on DVD/video, they look so good!

I'm collecting Tim Burton DVDs though, cos I love his work!

Can anyone tell me what they think of these films as I am deciding whether it is worth getting them or not (DVD or video, guess it doesn't matter)

Ed Wood
Cabin Boy
Beetlejuice
Vincent
Sleepy Hollow
James and the Giant Peach (seen, but not sure)
Charlie and the Chocolate factory (seen, but not sure)

if you have seen any of these, please tell me what you thought of them.
Thanks!

No one said mars attacks!

That's great.

It's like a B-grade scifi movie.

Good fun.

Sleepy hollow is good, I love the running jokes. But if you're not a fan of a fright or two, dont bother.

Beetlejuice is good, though like Mars Attacks, the effects are a little... lacking.

Wow!...a real Burton's fan!...I love Ed Wood, and Beetlejuice, and Edward Scissorshands. I was not so pleased with that monkeys' movie. Corpse Bride is beautiful!!!...Vicent is just a short clip, a good one, of course. Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate. Well...Johnny Depp and Burton are a very good team any time

Can't go wrong with Beetlejuice. It's funny and Michael Keaton is always great. Ed Wood is a great movie as well. An intriguing look at that director. I saw Sleepy Hollow...and I think the only redeeming quality is Christopher Walken.

Sleepy Hollow was good, and so was Beetlejuice, if you like old movies. Sweeny Todd was also fantasic. James and the Giant Peach is totally worth it.

I suggest collecting all of them except Cabin Boy and Ed Wood, which were not his best.

The rest...go for it!

Tim Burton is an aquired taste. I do like his darker creepy style and loved Beetle Juice, Batman and Charlie. I liked the way he decided to go dark for Batman.

Like all of them, except for Planet of the Apes, that one kind of sucked. Other than that, they are all fantastic and worth adding to any DVD colection.

BTW James and the Giant Peach is Henry Selick, his movies are worth a watch, and his upcoming movie Coraline is sure to be cool

I would get them all if you are a true fan. Check out ebay/amazon and you can get them quite cheap. I love his movies too although I hated Charlie and the Chocolate factory (although that was mainly because Johnny Depp reminded me of Wacko Jacko!)

Sleepy hollow and beetlejuice -Def. I thought charlie and the chocolate factory was horrible, but james and the giant peach was amazing too - I've never seen vincent though but i heard it was good.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is really creepy but a must-see!!!! (!!!) i like the part when the gum chewing girl ( Violet) blows up into a blueberry bc her cheeks and butt get really big! :) watch for that part.

I noticed that you didn't have "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" listed. That one I would definitely recommend, it has so many of his early trademarks (clowns, stop-motion animation, etc.) plus, HE'S IN IT (the thug in the rain before the fortune teller visit).

Definitely 'Beetlejuice'-one of his best. I think his best stuff is where everything about it is his. I didn't really like the 'Batman' ones.
