Lewis Carroll has said several times that the "little heroine" is not based on anyone and is entirely fictional though people do say she was based on a child friend Alice Liddell due to the story Alice in Wonderland is based on 4th of May, Alice Liddell's birthday, Through the Looking Glass (Another Lewis Carroll book based about Alice) takes place on 4th of November, her half-birthday (and Alice states she is exactly 7 and a half years old)

Carroll was friends with his boss and his family, which included a little girl named Alice. But Lewis Carroll always denied that the Alice in the book was based on anyone real.

Really? You couldn't just read it? (joke)

Lewis Carroll made the story up for a little girl named Alice. It is his relationship with Alice (apparently his muse) that have led some people to call Carroll a pedophile.
