Ciao Medeleine :)

in "L.A. Confidential"...great movie and actors !

Solo:The great detective Jake(Jack Nicholson) in "Chinatown"

BQ:I think i'll see J.Edgar by Clint Eatwood

BQ2: 2 great movie...my heart say Stand by me,my mind Back To The Future :)

BQ3:I love all the movie of this genius...so hard to understand but so attractive!

My favourite are Mulholland Drive and The Elephant Man...two masterpieces :)

There is no doubt. Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs. I can't believe that she was not even mentioned once! She is such a dynamic character. She has strong will, but she is not without weaknesses. You see her absolutely terrified in the end but she still got the courage to open every door where the killer may be.

BQ: This weekend I am watching Another Earth, The French Connection, Edward Scissorhands, maybe 8 1/2, and maybe Good Will Hunting.

BQ2: Back to the Future

BQ3: I've actually never seen a Lynch movie.

I'm going to go with a left field pick here, and say Jeffrey Beaumont from Blue Velvet. I'm sure there are dozens of better picks that I'm just not thinking of, but I really do like this character. He's not even an official detective, but he has such a knack for it.

BQ: Finally going to watch The Artist. Aside from that, maybe A Separation and Contraband. There are so many that I need to see.

BQ2: Wow, that's tough. I'm going to have to say Back To The Future, but it's almost too close to call.

BQ3: Awesome, happy birthday Lynch. I've only seen Blue Velvet and Mulholland Dr., and I can't decide between the two. If I had to guess, I'd say Blue Velvet is more "timeless" than Mulholland, but I've only seen them in full once each. Right now, I'll go with Blue Velvet.

I'd probably go for Arbogast from Psycho. Love that movie. The duo from Se7en would come in at a close second.

BQ: Yes. I wanna watch a bunch of DVDs I rented.

BQ2: Love both, but Back to the Future.

BQ3: Happy Birthday Mr Lynch. My favorite is The Elephant Man

Great question!

Wow thats cool. Because I was going to say Morgan Freeman in Se7en. Morgan Freeman is my favorite actor and Se7en is one of my top 10 all time favorite movies.

Also will give a mention to Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade in The Maltese Falcon and also Al Pacino as Vicent Hanna in Heat.

BQ- I would like to finally see Mission Impossible Ghost Protocal

BQ2- Both are good but I will go with Stand By Me. Its has more substance to it.

BQ3- The Elephant Man It was so good and freaked me out as a kid when I first saw it. And is also such a sad movie.

I'll have to go with TV show detective because I can only think of the ones I'm loving right now,

Sherlock Holmes and John Watson from the British television series Sherlock :)

BQ: Not really unfortunately :(

BQ2: Back to the Future all the way, I must've watched that film a thousand times, it's still on top of my favourite movies of all time! :D

BQ3: Well, Happy Birthday David! Guess what? I've never seen any of his films! o__O
2012-01-20 02:35:54 UTC
I absolutely love Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes, and Jude Law as Watson...they bring a certain modern touch to the dynamic duo, yet being confined to the end of the 19th century, and their bromance and chemistry is fantastic.

Jacques Closeau from the Pink Panther played by Steve Martin was hilarious all the while proving to be the best detective in all of France.

A: No plans.

A2: Neither.

A3: Happy Birthdat to David Lynch...

Hello again :)

I really like Detective Hal (Harvey Keitel) in Thelma & Louise. He's a good guy. And if 'made for TV movies' count, then Columbo gets my vote every time (genius)

BQ: I'll watch some movies yeah! My boyfriend wants to see '2001: A Space Odyssey' so definitely that. I've got a couple of new (low rent) horror movies I wanna watch too :)....um Dead Silence and Cherry Tree Lane.

BQ2: Stand By Me (no contest!)

BQ3: happy birthday you weird basterd! The Elephant Man (no contest!)

Colombo!!!!

obviously!

-----

but just seeing your BQs you inspired me to write another detective that i've liked much too see .. David Lynch' Lil, the dancer from Twin Peaks, if you can consider it a detective :S...

BQ: Any movie related plans for the weekend? i've not plans for the weekend

BQ2: Stand By Me or Back To The Future? Stand By me !!!... really, i never like much Back to the future...

BQ3: Happy birthday to David Lynch. Favourite Lynch movie? ... favorite.. mmmhh... probably Wild at Heart.. just becouse of is energy.. and Willem Dafoe's Bobby Peru :B ... Lynch is oniric, and simbolic and iconical like every oniric place, I like the most some of his charaters than the entire his movies.

Yo Maddie!

I just love the dynamic detective duo in Se7en! But, Freeman personally, MADE that movie what it is - to me. He brings so many layers to Sommerset, a man who's retiring, who's seen horrible things but learns not to give up, it's such a detailed portrayal. Ah! I just can't say enough amazing things of what a legend of a man Morgan Freeman is.

Since you've already mentioned one of my favourites, I'll say that another character I enjoy watching Inspector Jacques Clouseau in 'The Pink Panther'. :D Steve Martin is wholly entertaining to watch in practically anything he does, watching him bumbling in French without being overly annoying or irritating...he's just brilliant!

BQ: I'm trying to beg/kidnap anyone who wants to watch 'Haywire' with me, it's got Michael Fassbender! So I don't even care if it's any good I just want to see it lol.

BQ2: Stand By Me, it really tugs at your heartstrings. Anyone who's seen that movie and hasn't even got teary-eyes makes me doubt if they have a soul. It had more of an effect on me than Back To The Future- so i'll go with SBM. Oh! and Wil Wheaton!

BQ3: Most definitely, 'Blue Velvet'. That movie was just o_o

((Maddie))

Humphrey Bogart as Philip Marlowe In the 'Big Sleep'

Also him playing Sam Spade in 'The Maltese Falcon'

Basically he is playing the same 'Private Dick'

Raymond Chandler who wrote the Big Sleep also did the film script of Maltese Falcon.

Edit

I liked Se7en up until the end, the baddie was too all seeing and the film lost my suspension of disbelief, no one can be so all knowing. Because if they were they would not be in the position they are to start with.

And would probably be running the Country or some large Multi National.

No movie detectives. I like the TV crime solvers who can find an amazing amount of clues that no one else can see, like Adrian Monk, Columbo and Hercule Poirot. Have you seen the new Sherlock Holmes series on Masterpiece Mysteries on PBS? It comes on at 10 pm on Sundays here. It's about a young Sherlock set in our modern day (he likes to send texts). Fun series.

BQ 1 - no

BQ 2 - BTTF

BQ 3 - Who's he?
