According to that list, as long as you make a sequel to a movie, or another movie with an original character, you have a franchise? That's ridulous!! For example, they listed "Jack Ryan Series", the Clancy novel movies, which started with Alex Baldwin as Jack Ryan, 2 with Harrison Ford and 1 w/Ben Affleck. The "Halloween" or "friday the 13th" or "Saw" movies...you can take ANY horror movie, good or not, and just keep on making another movie where the guy who was decapitated, set on fire and run over my a train in the last movie is back again. That's just money making crap.
BUT..I digress...
My personal favorites, in no specific order,
1)Monty Python and...
2)The Godfather
3)Harry Potter and...
4)Dirty Harry
5)James Bond (just on principle)
