Do you think Morgan Freeman should have represented God in the movie "Bruce Almighty" and "Evan Almighty"?
(This includes anybody representing God in a movie, play, etc.)

It depends on the context of those movies. In your case, no because I believe God is not something to be taken lightly as a Hollywood bit of humor. The creators of those movies have no idea who they're messing with. God demands more respect than that

I don't see a problem with him portraying God. I think a lot of people assume God to be this mean jealous and vengeful being who requests us to be the exact opposite.
Think of the senior citizens you know. The majority are pretty wise and understanding b/c they've seen a lot of things over the years and understand why we do things the way we do.
Well imagine a being that has been around forever... would it really be insecure and offended that it was portrayed in a movie?

why not? he's as good as anyone else and probably better. i thought he played a great god. i guess i don't really understand you point. it sounds as if you think he shouldn't have played the part. should it have been a white actor or do you think god shouldn't be portrayed as human? you realize that this was a comedy, with a lesson, right?
