Hi,lbowan, there is a good program called Aimersoft DVD Creator, which can burn .mkv video file to a empty dvd disc easily and quickly.

Specifically, besides .mkv files, the program also supports avi,mp4, mpg, mpeg,3gp,wmv,asf,rm,rmvb,dat, mov,flv and even most HD formats like flv(Youtube),m2ts,tp and trp. And it supports the disc of DVD-r,DVD+r, DVD-rw,DVD+rw,DVD+r dl,DVD-r dl,DVD-ram,DVD–5 and DVD–9.

What's more, you can customize the video by trimming, cropping and setting background music, frame, button, menu template, slideshow transition effect.

If you wanna learn more info about it,visit the link-> http://www.dvd-creator.org/dvd-creator/index.html#173

Believe it or not, You can actually place up to 7 full movies onto a DVDR, if You know enough about the process, codecs, and Your players hardware limitations to make all the necessary pieces work properly together. There are some VERY cheap DVD players that used to play a couple types of movies like MPG or AVI when the discs were put in them, but now MOST DVD players actually do that anyway and the better ones (around $65.00 starting prices) actually say it on their labels. The fact that You're only getting one "homemade" movie onto a disc is a limitation of Movie Maker and can be beaten by copying the movies with a program designed ONLY to burn files to a disc. You'll need to convert the movies from WMV/ASF into MPG or AVI files to view them outside Media Player - this takes a "ripper program". Once they are in the right format, they can be burned as files onto a disc with something like Nero, Imgburn (free I use), or Roxio. Next step is the DVD player they get viewed on. ANY computer player will show MPG/AVI/WMV/ASF files all the time, no matter how many are on the disc. A DVD player on Your TV set will only show what it can recognize, but most will play the AVI/MPG filetypes mentioned. Others will require a converter program like DVDFlick that creates and converts movies or smaller video files to DVDs with full menus and chapters, into something called IFO / BUP filetypes. If You can find some 600-700 Meg files in the MPG/AVI format and burn them all onto a DVD, test it out in Your TV set DVD player. If it shows up or plays the first movie, try the buttons on the remote and You might find out You can use a 7-movie disc on Your TV set. The conversion format from WMV/ASF to MPG/DVD player has 2 possibilities btw - NTSC and PAL = American or European/Canadian TV sets. Meantime, I highly recommend some more research online about "video codecs", "video formats", and "playback devices". Good Luck!.
