Having been a Potter fan since 1999, I've always enjoyed going to the movie premieres since the Sorcerer's Stone. I was looking forward very much so for the arrival of the sixth installment, which I made sure to read a month prior to the movie coming out.

I waited in line for twelve hours (but I'm not complaining by any means) hoping for this to be the BEST movie of the franchise only to feel lukewarm.

It felt like such a disappointment compared to the sixth book. Acting (with the acception of Michael Gambon's Dumbledore), special affects, scenery, costumes....all of that seemed great to me.

But was it just me, or did it seem....rushed?
Did any one else feel it was poorly done half-way through?
The humor and romance were a riot, but did the lighthearted parts of the film seem to overtake the main point of the film?
The memories, the lightening struck tower,
the cave, the death, the mysteriousness of Draco's task...

Didn't it all just seem to be tossed in on the side without much emotion?

Maybe I'm too harsh a critic, but I wasn't fond of the choppy scenes or the script.

What's your guys thoughts? Good movie or not?

i completely agree. I felt like it was so rushed that it almost seemed like they were talking too fast to understand. The cave scene is supposed to be very dramatic and very suspensful and it completely fell flat of anything. Even dumbledores death seems uneventful, the movie was so quick you didnt have time to be sad or shocked by it and it didnt grab your heart the way to book did. Also horcruxes and going to be the entire plot of the next movie and they did a poor job of even explaining it in this movie, so no one who hasnt read the books would understand. Also they make the memories seem very unimportant, and leave out almost all of them when some of them are huge parts of the next movie. All together i was very dissapointed.

I waited in line forever too (not complaining cuz it was a choice of course) but i was very upset with it. I thought it would have been so much better! the very middle was very boring. they druged the middle out and rushed the begining and the end.... not that great... kinda bummed!! four was the best oh ya and i didnt really get half of it cuz i didnt read the book so that made it worst!
OhMy!!

It's because it's rated pg instead of pg13. You can't expect too much emotion.

Yeah... it was okay.

It just didn't really draw me in like the others....

I think I like 4 the best.
