Sherlock Holmes parents review? Appropriate for children?

My 8 year old son wants to see Sherlock Holmes with his friends and I know its PG-13 but I wat to know what type of content is in it. Is there sex, nudity anything really inappropriate?

That site will give you the exact content as far as nudity/sex, violence, language and drug use. It is a great tool for parents to judge for themselves whether or not they think something is appropriate since every parent is different as far as that goes. It's always hard to say what would be okay for someone else's child that's why I like that site.



There is anything overtly sexual in the film...one passionate kiss that I remember. A scene where Sherlock is chained to a bed with a pillow over his groin (he had been drugged-nothing sexual involved in that scene except a play on words when the chambermaid finds him) .There is a good bit of violence that may or may not be too much for a child that age. Nothing gory, just violent. i.e. fight scenes, explosions, a hanging. Of course the child has seen any horror films, then I guess the kind of violence in this movie wouldn't be anything.



It's a great movie, action packed. I'd like to see it again actually. Can't wait for the DVD.

There is little nudity; mostly Holmes tied to the bed. There is a lot of violence, though. If you have tough little jaded video gamers, it will probably be okay. I would have taken one of my twins at eight, but not the other.

There isn't really anything completely sex in it, but there is a scene where he has a pillow over just his....parts....but all in all theres some swearing but no compleye nudity of that sort

I haven't seen it yet, but looking at the parent content advisory from IMDb.com, I think it might be too violent for an 8-year-old:
