I just seen x-men origins: wolverine and got a question about the movie?

was x-men origins wolverine movie basically a movie before x-men 1,2 & 3, if so then why didnt they started x-men wolverine 1st then x-men 1 then 2 then 3?

BQ: after x-men origins: wolverine, will there be another coming out?

Answer: The X-men comics started with "X-men"; the Wolverine character came to the X-men comics much later.



Also: In my opinion X-men 1 was better since you had the whole original team; and not knowing too much about Wolverine's past made the character more interesting.



As for a "X-men origins: Wolverine 2", apparently they are preparing a sequel (Hugh Jackman previously had commented that the movie would be based on the Wolverine's years in Japan)

Yes Xmen origins takes place before the original 3 xmen movies. It is a prequel. Thus the title Xmen origins. It is the story of the Origin of Wolverine. My best guess is it came after the other 3 movies for one of two reasons.. One: The movie makers decided xmen was a cash cow, but having tied up their xmen story decided to tell the beginnings of characters stories. Or option two: People really wanted to know about wolverines origins and how he came to be which is a pretty interesting story. Either option is plausible, or even both. And yes there will likely be more Xmen movies.

They just made that movie to show the origin of Wolverine and answer questions for people who didn't read the comics. The director kinda did what they did with the Star Wars movies.
