If anyone can answer any of these questions about the movie it would be alot of help! Thanks

Where does Temple Grandin meet the criteria for Autistic Disorder?

Where does she meet the criteria for Asperger's Disorder (or syndrome)

What qualities do you think are unique to her and unrelated to the disorder?

In what ways did her environment help or hinder her development?

She has autistic disorder - she has difficulty making friends and relating to people, sensory sensitivities, delayed speech, unusual speech patterns, obsessive interests, and an unusual gait. She can't have Asperger's syndrome because she had a speech delay; the biggest difference between Asperger's and high-functioning autism is that people with Asperger's have normal speech development.

Her interest in livestock and animal science is unique. Most people on the autism spectrum have a special interest in some topic, but cows aren't a particularly common interest. Her phenomenal visual memory is related to her autism, but thinking in pictures isn't something all autistic people experience. Her views on animal rights are unrelated to autism. Her decision not to get married or have children is related to autism, but not a direct result of autism.

She has had supportive family members and teachers that encouraged her to persue her interests. Her aunt's ranch was a positive environment for her, and it inspired her to make a squeeze machine. She's also had classmates who bullied or made fun of her, and teachers and co-workers who just didn't understand her.

Yes, I saw the movie and I think it was very descriptive in interpreting through the mind of someone with autism. The film really explained the sensory attributes that come with autism. I have Asperger's syndrome, however society and government may not recognize me and others like me as "autistic" because I'm so mild and more like the epitome of the genius type. This was then over analyzed. they potrayed her as having Asperger's syndrome, and that was well written. The movie was sad about the slaughtering house and it was do amazing how she knew exactly how the cows and pigs could see, smell, and sense danger awaiting them. The men were really sexist and prejudice against women and people with special abilities. I don't know if you saw it or not but you should see it. Claire Danes is a really good actres.

It was a movie not a documentary, and Temple Grandin is autistic not an Aspie. Most people who have AS that I know can't stand her because she trie to claim AS.

Just a few things. I think her inability to connect/touch people, the need to have a rigid control on her enviroment and high intelligence met the criteria for Autsim and Aspergers. I think her qualities to connect with animals and able to understand them were unique and being on a cattle ranch during her youth help make a career out of it. I don't think some of the schools helped her though.
