If you will notice on Depps IMDB page it says "14 in-development credits" One of those is Pirates of the Caribbean 4.

After the blockbuster success of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Disney is gearing up for a fourth installment. The latest chapter is rumored to be about Captain Jack Sparrow and his search for the Fountain of Youth. While Johnny Depp has expressed interest in continuing with the popular role, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom are unlikely to return.

At present, there are no sequels in the works, according to the Internet Movie Database. That does not mean that there won't be a sequel. It took quite a number of years to make a fourth Indiana Jones movie, but it did get made. Anything can happen.



It would require finding a time when Johnny Depp is free and so is any other cast member who will come back. Keira Knightly is quite in demand these days, so getting her back could be a problem, but then, her character might not be in the sequel.



The fact that producer Jerry Bruckheimer has moved on to other projects is probably the most telling thing. He is the one who would get the writer, director (Gore Verbinski or some replacement director), and cast together. He is the one who would spearhead a sequel. If and when he decides that it is the project that he wants to pursue, the ball will get rolling. Without him, it won't happen. That's what makes the rumours so interesting. It seems that he is pressured to make a sequel. However, it is so far into the future that it's hard to say that it's really going forward at this point.

it has no longer been shown. in accordance to a piece of writing (i forgot which one yet you are able to seem it up by employing finding pirates of the caribbean 4 in google) that johnny depp remains interested in makeing a fourth installment (provided the script is powerful) yet keira knightly and orlando bloom reportedly made a pass for doing a fourth installment. i'm guessing that why they made the ending of the 0.33 action picture the way it quite is. the fourth one, if ever they are making one, would be a spin-off. probable following jack sparrow and yet another bunch of characters. :D
