I hope so but they changed so much from the books.

They was no mention of Thaila and the tree didnt appear
They killed Luke off ROFL are they going to say he fell on the princess andromeda ship and started working for Kronos :D ?
we saw all the gods, how are they going to sneak Hermes in if we've already seen him :D
where was Dionysus?
oh and Ares girl wasn't in and she's a main person in the second book :D

I was looking on wikipedia and it said they were supposed to...it's due to come out in 2012. Ugh...thanks a lot, Chris. You just messed up the whole series.



I was hoping it would be good since his Harry Potters were great, very close to the books, but in this movie:

No Oracle

No Mr. D. (waaah)

No Clarisse

The cast are all old geezers (haha)

No tree/Thalia curse thing

NOTHING!

Oh yeah, and they make Persephone a ****. :/

So yes, they said they were making a second movie....but whatever. It's not based on the book, it's a whole different thing. Grr.

I know exactly how you feel, but I suggest looking at the movie differently from the book! If you think about it, putting all the events from the book into the movie would be hard and make the movie like 7 hours long. Trust me, what they did with the movie was a lot better than I expected and the changes were great!



I know that they are signed on to do at least three of the books, so a second one is definitely on the horizon. Supposedly it is labeled to come out sometime in 2012. If not then, it will be later.



They most definitely could've put more stuff in the first one to help us with the next one, but I'm sure they will just clear stuff up in the second one. At first I was like "That's just great, they killed Luke so that basically ruins the rest!" but then after seeing it three times, I realized that he doesn't really die, because they never show him die. He just gets thrown into the water...

I think they will but I hope it wouldn't be as sh*tty as the first one.



Also, in the book, Luke and Annabeth are in the same team during Capture the Flag. Why are they in opposite teams in the movie?



It didn't even tell that Hades's Helm of Darkness was missing and I bet he wouldn't send one of the Furies and show at the camp celebration to help Zeus find his master bolt.



And Percy used the shoes in the movie, instead of Grover.



Oh, and Annabeth's hair isn't curly or/and blonde like in the book.



And most important of all, the age difference! In the book, Percy is 12, in the movie he's 17! How is he supposed to save or destroy Olympus at 16?



I could go on more about the differences but I don't want to. LOL.

Personally, I don't think they will. There was no point in another movie because, like what you said, Thalia wasn't even mentioned AND they killed Luke ALSO, no mention of Kronos. They basically killed the whole storyline of the series. Also the mention of the pact between the 3 Gods.



Even if they make another movie, they will totally f*ck the books.



It's so disappointing that they changed so many :|



plus, I think their only intention was to make one movie, because they changed so many



EDIT: ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING! NO MENTION OF THE PROPHECY! That was one of the most important part of the series!
