I'm 21 (haha) and I want to watch the movie The Hunger Games but I HATE movies that are over the top violent and gross. (ei Saw) Is this movie like that? I can handle blood and fighting just not missing limbs, people getting blown up, or things of that nature. Do you think I should watch this movie?

It's not gory at all. The most violent it gets is a few stabs here and there, blood stains on the tributes, and a burned injury on Katniss, and that's about it. All the fight scenes and nasty parts are hard to see because of the camera jerking and quick movements and adjustments. There is an explosion scene where items are blown up, but not the people. It's no where near Saw gory, and it's rated PG-13 so don't worry about it. I say give the movie a shot!

the books were on the gory side a bit, they were very descriptive.

but the movie was a such a huge deal that the producers had to make the movie appropriate for all ages in order to target the most people the age span can possibly go, to get more money.

So no, unfortunately, no.

The movie's not bad at all it doesn't show any blown off limbs or anything like that the only blood I remember seeing is the bit running down katniss's forehead but it wasn't that bad. When someone dies they usually just flip the camera so that you're looking at katniss or peeta or one of the other characters instead of the person dying. You should definitely see it! It's good!

There is lots of fighting, blood and injuries. They do get blown up and the whole idea of the movie is just sick. You should be able to handle it since your 21 but I wouldn't recommend it to children under age 14...

It's not so bad. When you think about what is actually happening, it is violent and gory, but the way they shake the camera, and shoot the scenes, it doesn't look gory. A ot of time you can't even tell what's going on in the fights.

There's a bit of blood and gore, but mostly they try to hide it. Some death have no blood at all, but they show twisted neck and stuff. I'm 12 years old and I think the movie is awesome.

I took my eleven year old son to see it and trust me I have seen much worse on cable TV. For the type of story it is they did a great job of keeping the violence and gore to a minimum.

No, since you can't see the action due to a shaky camera

No, it's not violent or gory (much to my disappointment).

Not at all, they used quick cuts to make it a low rating.
