I bought it from EBay, it is brand new -but offputting with the subtitles. I am an older lady, hence not very technical.

On your remote there should be a button called "subtitles" (if a peice of plastic slides off your remote, it'll be there), keep pressing this untill the message says "subtitles off". Alternatively, when you load up the movie, go on "language setup" or something like that (it may just be setup) where you can alter the subtitles.

it depends on the version of the movie you have purchased. put the movie into the dvd player and wait for the main menu to come up. look for a section titled 'setop' or 'languages'. one of those should have the subtitles preference in it. you should be able to choose from various types of subtitles or 'no subtitles'.

i say should because some foreign films marketed in the u.s. don't have the option of turning off the subtitles. i just bought a french film that has englsih subtitles but you can not turn them off. that may be the case with your dvd as well. but try the above in the menu. if it's there that will fix the problem.

Oh yeah, one of those "dutch" videos eh. You should have a menu button on the remote on your dvd, go into that and there should be a section for subtitles.

It is nothing to do with your DVD, it is all to do with your dvd player, select subtitles on your remote and then cycle through them until it says subtitles off. Hope this helps.

if your remote doesn't have a subtitle on/off then do this...

at the beginning of the movie instead of hitting play go to the(it may say setup or language) section, then go to the part where it says subtitles and click off/no

hope that helps

You can't remove the subtitles. Live with it or buy one w/o the subtitles.
