i want to design my own website to advertise my homemade movies and all sorts of videos i make; is myspace my only way? how can notify the whole world that my homemade movies can be previewed online?

There's untold numbers of places offering free websites. Go to www.msn.com for one. Go to www.blogger.com to set up a free blog (which is pretty much like a free web page). If you're willing to download a copy of the Opera browser (free) then you can get one there. Go to www.bravenet.com. Lots of others!
