Do you think Leonardo dicaprio would be better if he picked roles for his looks?

I'm a bit tired of Leonardo Dicaprio trying to be just a good actor. I think he would be mroe intune with hisself if he picked roles like George Clooney, which reflect what people think of him rather trying to pick clever roles all the time. Obv his earlier work in my opinion is his best because he did that. I'm not feeling the weird films latly though. He's definately an actor of this generation for sure though. What do you think?

Letting what people think of you dictate what roles you choose demonstrates little integrity. DiCaprio is a great actor: Inception, Bllod Diamond, Gangs of New York, The Departed, Shutter Island, Catch Me If You Can, and The Aviator all came after his star-turning performance in Titanic. I don't really think that the roles qualify as "clever". They are just (mostly) dramatic roles in well-written films. Yes, Inception and Shutter Island required a bit more thinking than your average film, but that doesn't equate to DiCaprio choosing "clever roles", and I don't think the movies are weird.



For the record, I don't think George Clooney picks roles based on what people think of him. He reads a good script that he's interested in, and he accepts a role. Really crappy actors, like Nicholas Cage asn Vin Diesel have pigeon-holed themselves into playing the same role for eternity, not Clooney and DiCaprio.

The common thing I see in his roles and his life is that he avoids roles where he plays a married man. Most likely because he's tiger beat material for the average housewife in part because he's still a bachelor in real life. It let's Mrs. America diddle herself while she imagines she can still snag the guy.



DiCaprio successfully made the transition from child actor to adult actor, he has yet to make the jump to middle aged actor, which is even harder.



Consider how many crashed and burned out of the brat pack, most of whom disappeared from notice about the time they were DiCaprio's age.

particular,Ofcourse! he's shown to be an exceedingly versetile actor. All his videos are continuously valuable and amazing. i admire him! I even have all his movies so a tactics on dvd,he's my all time fav actor,ever on account that I observed him performing in becoming Pains. and not in basic terms is he an actor, yet, a extensive Environmentalist! To me Leo is already a Legend! lower back.i admire Leo!

I think Leo is a terrific actor, but I have this same problem with his movies lately. He is gunning for that Oscar hard. The same with his looks. The slicked back hair does him no favors. I guess he thinks it makes him look older and non-boyish and that people will take him more seriously, or something if he looks older. I'd love to see him in a more light hearted movie, or dare I say it.. a comedy?
