It is PROBABLY DEFINATLEY the most awesomely wonderful brilliant movie EVER! Tis a cult classic and wasnt appreciated in its time until late night cinema sessions!

Richard O-Brien (Riff-Raff in the movie) is an awesome writer.

The songs are sooo damn catchy, i rattle them off all the time.

Sweet Transvestite is my favourite! :)

A few words to describe this fabulous creation: Transvestites, TIM CURRY probably the sexiest man in a corset and heels, music, meatloaf, blood, song, tap dancing, timewarp, weird and wonderfull special effects!

ITS SOO AMAZING, i recommend it HIGHLY to everyone who has good taste in movies!

Not sure if you should watch 'shock treatment' the follow up.

I liked it, but my sister didnt. If you dont think of it as a sequel it might be better!

keep in mind, when you go to a rocky horror picture show screening , there's alot of audience interaction, and most will be dressed in costume of the characters in the movie. if that's what you like then you should have fun, if it's not, you will not like it , and you may want to rent the movie and watch it first before you go.

AWESOME!!!

It's a lot of fun, if you don't take it seriously. There is a lot of gender-bending and homosexual overtones in the movie. The good guys get seduced/brainwashed by the cross-dressing, anti-hero lead (Frank-n-furter), and this may have been why your mum found it depressing. If that bothers you a lot, then don't see it. But, if you can put all of that aside and just have fun with the music and the audience participation, then it's a fun time.

its fantastic, i'd say you need an open mind and a sense of humour, it's a classic film and brilliant songs, i own it on dvd, it might be worth renting it if it's hassle going to see it, it's a bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it :)

it is an absolute cult classic and very enjoyable to watch, and if you're going somewhere to watch it, be prepared for those that are dressed up and the audience participation.

I love the film, and would love to see the stage show.

like everyones said, you should see it at home first since its so weird. look up stuff on the computer about it. what you think of it, will depend on the kinda person you are. like me im 14, i think of it as a cult classic and a very fun movie. but im only like that cuz my mom was majorly into that type of stuff. (and heavy metal) and i was raised watching rocky horror. so just rent it first.

It's basically a fun and silly film. It is a campy musical based loosely on old B-movies of the 1950's, but is still good if you don't really know any.

You can watch parts of it on YouTube. As others have said there is a fan-base who will be very noisy during a cinema showing so it might be better to watch it rented.

It's one of my favourite films but it is incredibly wierd. If you don't like wierd humour you probably won't 'get it'. I had to watch it twice before i got into it. The music's great though!

I'm a little biased, but I think everyone should attend a showing of RHPS at least once in his/her life--it's the epitome of cult classic. :)

Rocky is amazing, because it lets you check out of reality for just a night. It's a great opportunity to release some stress and really express yourself without the fear of being ridiculed.

Everyone's Rocky experience is a little different. Some theaters have a shadow cast, actors in costume mimicking the movie on a stage in front of the screen. The actors I have seen/met are usually very devoted fans and put on an amazing show! Also, audience participation is one of my favorite things about RHPS. Patrons are encouraged to "interact" with the movie by yelling certain things at the screen or throwing objects at each other.

Here are some basic do's and don'ts for your RHPS experience:

Take a group of friends.

Dress up in a crazy costume and go all out with your hair and makeup (guys too!)

Learn the Time Warp before you go!

Keep an open mind and be respectful of others!

Review the "prop list" on cosmosfactory.org, but take care not to damage theater property when throwing toast, squirting water guns, etc. (Some theaters may not allow you to bring the water guns.)

It's amazing. The best musical ever. It's funny, the songs are well written and you'll be singing them for days. It's a movie you can watch again and again.

Don't be put off by anyone else's opinion, even if you don't end up feeling as strongly about it as some (myself included), it's a cult classic and definitely worth seeing.

i'd suggest seeing it alone or at home with friends the first time as in some cinemas people tend to join in and you can miss parts of it or feel left out. But it's a great experience and there's also a whole culture that goes with the film. once you've seen it a few times it's worth looking at an audience participation guide.

I love that movie!!!! Often a usual when I have friends round and we've had a few too many glasses of vino! Mostly because it's great for a sing-along. Hee hee. I really liked Columbia for some reason, and love her bit in Time Warp (always try to copy it but can't manage such a high pitch!) And my fave songs from it are Sweet Transvestite, Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me and Eddie but Time Warp always clinches it for best song, whether I'm watching the movie or at a party!

I absolutely LOVE this movie, it is one of my favorites of all time and always will be. I don't know how anyone would get depressed from watching this...I mean there are tons of things in it that I can see certain kinds of people not liking but so long as you are open minded and don't take ANY of it seriously you are in for a great time. I love this movie so much! Definitely in my top 5 of all time. /starts singing :)

BUT! Do not watch it if you have a problem with any types of male on male...anything lol

I thought it was awesome, you should see it once, but if you see it once, you will want to see it again and again.

Maybe before you go, watch a few clips on You Tube, I am sure they have bits and pieces on there.

Tim Curry in a garter belt = EPIC WIN!!!!!! LOL!!!!

The movie is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definately rent it before you see it at the theater, there is TONS of interactions and if you want to be part of it I'd study up! LOL!

The movie is really good and has tons of catchy songs!!!

It is a strange movie but an awesome strange movie!!!!!! It's all about pure people giving over to the dark side and "rose tinting your world". LOL!

I actually watched it last night at a house party for the first time, and its not really what i expected. Its rather dark and very sexual, the songs are not great, but it was really 'tacky' fun. I Think if your ever gona watch it in your life it should be at the cinema.

I love it, but you have to like that type of film to enjoy it, I have only ever seen the film and I personally think it's good although it has a terrible ending.

If you're going to a big event to watch it then its fun as you get all the people who do the audience participation bits, so well worth it. Personally I thought the film went down hill a bit from the middle. But its good.

its like a gay frankenstein story with alot of good 1970's rock and roll. But Tim Curry in a garter belt still makes me want to puke. You will see some famous people before they were famous. Meatloaf, and Susan Sarandon. Everyone should see it once. The Varsity theatre in St. Louis used to show it every weekend and people would act out the movie in front of the screen, that was kind of annoying.

Everyone raves on about how it's a cult classic, but I think it is way overrated, and pretty boring to be honest. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
