I was never into anime films, being well into adulthood. But there was one on Channel4 last year called 'Graveyard Of The Fireflies' about the aftermath of WW2 from the viewpoint of two orphaned japanese children.
I blubber everytime I watch it. Its very moving - a masterpiece (anti) war film.

Steel Magnolias. I fight it but I tear up every time. Not at the death scene but the after-funeral scene when Chelsea's mom realises her beautiful daughter is really dead, while she is still living and healthy.
