Who thinks that J.K Rowling should write the scripts for the Harry Potter movies? It would make sense and she is the only one who knows what is going to happen and she would know what to keep and get rid of. The reason why I'm asking is because I read this acticle on the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie and it made me really mad. The book is the longest one but the movie i the shortest movie. Does that even make any sense? Tell me what you think.

Being a Harry Potter fan, I must say that its riduclious! How can you make the longest book into the shortest movie!! That's stupid and wrong! They already took away our Qudditch matches and that part when Fred and George ditch school on brooms, I heard their taking that part out! I hope JK knows what these writers are doing.

I don't have exact answer to your question, but...

Personally I agree with you that J.K.Rowling should write the scripts for the Harry Potter movies. But, I think that she cooperates with scriptwriters and takes care that something important for future events isn't cut out from the movie. Yes, they really finished the work when made the fifth movie the shortest, and the book is the longest one. How dare they?!

But, we can observe all this from J.K. Rowling's point of view. She earns a lot of money and she is really busy with writing the books, and maybe she doesn't have time to do all the thing by herself. But, everyone knows that if they want to feel the "Harry Potter world" they must read the books. (I can't wait for 7th to come out! :) ) So, maybe she doesn't care much about that...

I think the stupidest thing about Harry Potter OOTP movie is it's length. They really messed the things up... The plot is generally OK. :)

I totally agree. I hate it when the authors let the script writers destroy their books! Everything in the book should be in the movie, and if you can't fit everything, then you sure as hell shouldn't change the story! At least the Harry Potters are goin better at following the story than Eragon. That was a complete catastraf#@k! If they do this in the 5,6, & 7, I will be super pissed!

Uh I guess... But being a screenwriter is different than writing a novel. Oh well, I guess that you have a good idea. But I think JK Rowling is one of the people that can edit the movie so in a way she already knows what is on there and can change unesscary things.

Hmmm I don't know.

i see your point and i think i agree. it would only make sense for the longest book to be the longest movie...lol. but maybe she doesn't want to write the scripts? i mean she spends a lot of time writing the books and she does have children who need some of her time. it would make sense but we have to think of JKR too. i LOVE harry potter and i am very sad to see the series end this summer, it is going to be very sad!!!

books are longer cuz they have to set up the imagery for the reader a movie shows everything at once so a 15 minute scene might be 50 pages long so they have to edit things that aren't major to the story

I haven't read any information on the new film, but the other films have had so many significant changes made to them I am inclined to agree with you.
