I have to say I am one of the people that was bashing it from the start. the trailer looked dumb to me and so on. But Rotten Tomatoes has been reporting that it is getting good reviews and the people that have seen it early are loving it. I even googled how bad G.I. Joe was going to be and the links were all about how it is surprising people about how good it is... Who else is hearing about this and genuinely surprised?

I didn't realize it was getting good reviews, but now that I heard it from you, I am quite surprised. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to see it regardless of how "bad" it is, because it's ******* G.I. Joe. That's my childhood, man. Still, I thought it would be an awful movie, and I'm glad it's getting at least some good press.

I'm surprised. Very surprised.

Unlike alot of the other posters here, though, I watched G.I. Joe as a child and will NOT be seeing the film. Hollywood already destroyed my childhood memories of the Transformers. Right around the point the robots started talking, I wanted to eat my own hand. It just wasn't a concept that worked in live action.

The trailers looked good to me, so I am NOT surprised that GI Joe is getting good reviews. I have not seen it yet, but I am going to pay $10 to go see it in the theater. Normally if I expect to be disappointed I wait for the movie to fly to DVD.

I am. That trailer looked like garbage and from what I've heard there is no Cobra Commander. None of what I've seen resembles the cartoon I grew up on. I'll probably wait for the DVD. I don't care what any review says. I just can't see how this is going to be good

Whether you enjoy this movie or not may depend on your age. I grew up with GI Joe, so I am absolutely going to see the movie, whether it is good or not. I suspect this is probably true for most males over age 30 including males in their 40's and 50's and older because they grew up with GI Joe too. Males that are 25 or younger may not be as familiar with GI Joe, but may go and see it because the previews look good. I loved the cartoon show when it was on (in the 80's), and LOVE that they made a movie. It is nostalgia for me, and I hope that it sparks new life in to the GI Joe action figures!

You surprised me by telling me it got good reviews! I didn't have a clue. The trailer made it look like an extremely dumb cash in of an action movie.

I expected the review to be mediocre at best. Something along the lines of my favorite review for Transformers 2 "Loud, obnoxious and loud." At least now GI Joe looks like it will be entertaining.

Mauer not being unanimous is a tragedy. One of the best seasons ever, carried the team to the playoffs, does everything perfectly. Tex and Jeter were co-MVPs on their team, so no way they could have gotten a first place from Mauer. HOW does Cabrera get a vote when his team LOST their season to Mauer's? Awful.

Not seen it and never seen the cartoons either the trailers look alright but i guess they put all the best bit in the trailers right?

I thought the movie looked like crap. Shows how desperate Hollywood is. Transformers sucked too.

It's been a long time since I went to the movies. The last movie I saw in the theater was" Rightous Kill".

My opinion : Don't spend your money going to the movies. Spend your money on your cable bill instead.

Lighten up, it's got great FX and loads of explosions. You want a plot as well?

soldiers are murderers

this film should be banned, it will brainwash the youth to do something stupid with there lives, like joining the military and ending up in a wheelchair paraliyzed or coming home from a staged war for profits and hanging themselves.
