Brad Pitt, in the same body, plays two parts in that movie. Hios first appearance if that of a young man in a bar, who tries to pick up Susan and manages to strike her heart. Ironically, that very young man is killed moments later by a car accident (you might remeber the scene), so that death may use his body to complete the purpose of taking a vacation on earth, after which death will take Susan's father with him because it is his time. However, death, once entered the household is also struck by Susan (who hasn't yet realized the disguise) and is as close as falling in love as death could ever be. Before the end of the movie, and before her dad goes, Susan realizes that Brad Pitt is death in the body of the young man she met. Death, having feelings for Susan and sorry about having to take her father from her, promises just before leaving, to return the young man's soul to his body so that Susan may be happy. When Brad Pitt re-emerges, this time with the body AND soul of the young man, he does not remember anything and, having been temporarily dead, had never met Susan's father. If you do decide to have another go at watching the movie, look closely, it is very interesting to see how Brad Pitt manages to make it very apparent in his face whether he is playing death or the young man.

The first DVD I ever owned was A Chorus Line, and at the time, I had never seen the stage show. I just loved the way it ended, with all of the dancers coming out of the mirrors, gave me shivers. And the song Dance: 10, Looks: 3 (also known as "T*ts and ***") made me laugh, so I watched that movie a lot. After I saw the stage musical a couple of times live, I realized how lame the movie was, but I still like the ending. About once a year, I rent Casablanca. And I have a copy of It's a Wonderful Life in glorious black and white, which we watch about once a year, as well. Mostly I watch TV shows on DVD, because I've never had cable and missed them the first time. I've seen every episode made of The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Tudors, Deadwood, etc. at least twice. Now I'm waiting on Boardwalk Empire tomorrow from Netflix. I love Netflix. edit - Fried Green Tomatoes is a fun movie, but if you've never read the book, go for it. It's so much funnier than the movie and the movie changed some key parts of the plot. Jessica Tandy was NOT Idgie, no matter what the movie wanted you to think. Shame on Fannie Flagg for allowing that desecration!

Joe Black is death - he inhabited the body of a young man in order to 'visit' Susan's father and get closer to Susan. However no one knows this except the father.

At the end of the film Susan guesses this somehow and guesses that there is a connection between Joe's being there and her father dying

Great film, right i will try my best here,at the start jack is killed, Susan's dad is going to die, heart attack- jack is sent back to this life to take him,he does not recall susan at all, film goes on, then when susan & jack fall in love, jack has no idea he had met her b4, so at the end dad is dead & jack comes back over the hill only to see susan as the girl he met in coffee shop.

What happened was when Joe came back to her it was like the three days her father was alive never happened. What the agrement was "Let me live for three more days until my birthday and I will show you what life is like " When her father went with Joe, he became Death now and made it seem as if he had died three days earlier, so Joe would not have been able to meet Him as he was alive and to meet death is to die so he could not have met him at all. if you wish to discuss this any more Please feel free to drop me an e-mail at drcna123456@yahoo.com any time

Thanks

Because it wasn't death anymore. Death fell in love with her so when he took her father he gave her the man in the beginning that she liked (the one that got hit by a car, death used his body) in return to make her happy. She knew it wasn't death anymore. So, she said "I wished you had known my father," because she figured out who he really was.

I hope that wasn't too confusing sounding.

because she doesnt know he met her father as he has chosen to be with her instead of constantly changing
