Should Tom Selleck be allowed to play "Magnum PI" again in the proposed motion picture?

They want to get someone else to play "Magnum PI", but I believe they should allow Tom Selleck to play him again in the motion picture.

I didn't know they were but I say yes. I like tom he's still a good looking fit man and I'm sick of these little sh*ts that can't act getting these classic roles and only getting good reviews because of special effects.

I think they should do a movie about Magnum PI in his late 50s, early 60s and have Selleck play the character. If they do a remake with a young magnum it would never fly. Besides they did an updated Magnun already. The show was called Sweating Bullets.

I was living in Hawaii when that show was at its heyday and I really like Tom Selleck. It used to be a hobby in Hawaii to go "Magnum" watching and go to locations where they'd be shooting, and the stars, including Tom, would always come over and work the crowd a little.
Tom was hand-picked by author Louis L'Amour to star in the screen adaptations of L'Amour's great westerns, including "The Sacketts," and "Crossfire Trail," and I think he was just great in those.
Mr. Selleck, however, is getting a bit old to play swinging, skirt-chasing, Thomas Sullivan Magnum. In fact, he's way too old! He's looks just right and comfortable as Jesse Stone in the CBS series based on Robert B. Parker's novels, and I hope he continues to do those, but he should leave Magnum to the younger crowd.

I'd rather see T. Selleck play the Father or Grandfather of a younger star as Magnum PI.....Its not an original idea, but a more practical one...=)

I like Tom and would like to see him as Magnum again. He is still in the prime of his life and should be allowed to play him. If they do not use him I for one will not watch it.
EDIT: I read Legendary's response.
If they want a diff. actor. Let it be about Thomas' son and make his name diff. There can only be one Thomas Magnum, P.I.

Only if he wears the big sunglasses, keeps the big puffy hair, and blows p the car. If you think about he might start doing nude centerfolds again. Is the world ready for that?
