Question:
Why did Harry Potter NOT die in the end of Deathly Hallows Part 2?

Hello Yahoo Users,

In the final movie Harry enters Snape's memories after he was killed by Voldermot. It is reavel Harry is part of Voldermort and that he has to die too with Voldermort. So why didn't this happen in the end?

Never having read the Harry Potter books I only have watched the films and enjoyed all of them. Just watched Deathly Hallows Part 2 and disappointing by the ending not being consistent with the plot. Shouldn't Harry have died since he was a Horcrux too? Thank you

Harry had to die in order to kill the Voldemort part in him, which is the fetus thing you see at King's Cross that's Voldemort's bit of soul that lived in Harry, that's the part that died with the cursed Voldemort threw at him. Dumbledore made it seem as if Harry had to really die because he needed Harry to be hopeless, so he would make the sacrifice.

Contrary to the belief that Harry did not die because he had the Hallows (Which he didn't, by the way, the wand was not in his possession at the moment, even though he rightfully owned it). Harry was the unintended Horcrux that Voldemort didn't know about, and when he was hit with the Killing Curse in the forest, it hit just the soul that was Voldemort's, and not Harry's. This also explains why Voldemort also collapsed in the forest (Remember how Bellatrix tried to help him up, and he shoved her away?), it was because he hit his own soul. Normally one does not collapse after using the curse.

not to bring back this old post, but really, it didnt have much to do with the hallows. He did have the 3 all at different times. But he did not have them all at one time. It was his mothers protection, she sacrificed herself for harry, which gave him the ultimate protection. So he was protected from anyone trying to harm him. but in goblet of fire when they used his blood to bring back voldemorte, he and harry were somewhat similar, so long as voldemorte lived, harry couldnt truly die, because of the connection. also when voldemorte tried to kill him, he hit also killed the part of himself with in harry as the horcux he didnt intend to make. when harry was talking to dumbeldore, that thing laying on the ground was voldemorte unable to pass on because he was not whole, his soul was ripped apart from making all of the horcruxs. Harry had to believe he had to die, but in the end he didnt, he had a choice. on top of that the elder wand answered to harry prior to voldemorte getting the wand, and it will not kill its master. Dont forget also neither one could kill each other when the dueled in goblet of fire because both wands contained the same core, which then also was the reason harry was able to see his mother, father, and friends that had been killed.

Technically Harry did die. Voldemort had a piece of soul in Harry. When Voldemort killed Harry he actually killed his piece of soul unknowingly.

Well he technically did die but he used the resurrection stone to come to life inch meant because he had died, the horcrux had died with him but obviously a horcrux can't use a resurrection stone to come back to life.:)

Harry united the Deathly Hallows, making him the master of death. He did die, but because he had the hallows he had the power to come back, and did so. It explains this in the book :)

He had to live to kill Voldermort. Love helps to triumph over evil.

There are three items "A cloke", and "elder wand", and "and a stone".

Those tree items are called the deathly hallows, and they make you a master, and give you one chance to come back alive.

Harry had all 3 of those things.

he did die but he had all 3 of the deathly hallows which makes him the master of death.

in the last movie you were told about them. when he was at the train station with head master he was dead and the bloody thing under the bench was voldemorte in him.
