Question:
Why did they have to ruin Transformers?
2007-07-06 01:59:46 UTC
It took an hour to even get interesting

the side stories (all the earthlings) were dragged out too much.

It could have been a half hour to a hour shorter.

only interesting part was the battles at the end.

and they left out soooooo much (like where was Optomus Prime's trailer)...

I think your opinion is wrong.

because its the "origin story". they do the same thing with comic book movies. ever notice how the sequels are better than the first ones? spider man 2, x men 2, FF2, etc......the first one is always the explanatory one while the sequels hit heavy on the action. you're right they did leave a lot out. optimus' trailer, correct vehicle designs, how they actually GOT to earth. (no they didnt come individually as big crashing meteorites) the matrix of power......hell....you didnt even see megatron for most of the film, nor did they go into the battle between megatron and starscream.....and there were tons of characters left out. soundwave anyone? i think this one focused more on the human characters and thier inability to understand what was happening and it gave us a basic understanding of these robots. i believe the inevitable sequel will be more action packed and focus more on the stories of the transformers. honestly, i loved the movie. i thought it was funny, and well done, and full of action. granted it had its "errors", but i dont think it took anything away from it at all. im sure they'll do better in the sequel. heres to hoping bumblebee is actually a volkswagen bug in the next one. (anyone see the strategically placed bug next to the camaro on the car lot)?? and heres to hoping michael bay comes back. nobody directs action like he does. NOBODY. ............lets roll out!! oh and you're right. miami vice did suck major a s s!!!!

You are right AND wrong. I agree with the fact that it takes some time before it gets interesting. However, in my opinion, the story or plot goes absolutely well leading all the way to the arrival of the Autobots. And about Prime's new form without the trailer, well they cant let it disappear into thin air like the toon, rite?!

Grew up as a teen in the 80's thought the transformers where rubbish.

The ninja green teen things were too.

Do you know this is their writers last ditch effort to make a story out of something they were trippin on in the eighties.

God help you babies now days if you think that crap is cool.

ewwwwwwwwwww then and ewwwwwwwwwwwwww now.

Let me make my pet turtle radio active so he mutates and carjack the pizza man and let my lovely old station wagon turn into a tough robot from hell and beat the **** out of all that I have road rage towards.

Its all then and now imature.

Just from some of the little immatures here I can see its all new to you - why don't some of you guys create stuff not copy and reinvent what has been - look at the music. Are you guys stumped for inventiveness?

Micheal Bay cannot make good films. They have a total disrespect for the franchise.

Hollywood is about product placement. That's why Bumblebee isn't a Volks Wagon beetle.

It was sexist, racist and insulting to anyone with a brain.

It was a missed opportunity.

Flames on Optimus = Nipples on Batman. You know it's true.

I agree with you. Those that say it's the greatest movie ever are not the most intelligent of people. I didn't care about the human stuff (it was acted badly, anyways) but rather wanted to see nothing but the robots (which is bad in a way). Plus, there were alot of plot holes.

I agree with you. Watching a commercial three years ago saying "Transformers! Formers! Collect all three super fun robotic toys in stores now! Presented by Hasbro." made me not even want to know the plot of Transformers. It might be different to many people, but I don't like to watch movies based on toy robots. Robots just ain't my kind, and just like many boring ol' movies, the plot is okay with robots taking over the world, but it's long.

Miami Vice did suck. Transformers didnt suck though and i loved it and thought it was one of the best ive seen in awhile. It had the right amount of everything. They had acting so can give shia lebauf more of a push to be a major actor plus they didnt want the whole movie to be just cgi and transformers and was cheaper this way. I liked it this way i think it had just the right amount of everything.

the orginal is always best. I don't know why companies always try too improve something that is working so well.
