is the sex scene in lust caution real?

i watched lust caution and thought that the sex scenes were very real. Were they real? because in an interview, lee ang said he made it as realistic as possible, even hinting that the sex was real but then also saying that there are boundaries.

Ang Lee didn't answer it directly, he just avoided it.....and since there were only 4 people left on the shooting scene and based on the graphic picture, I guess it's real........sacrifice to art

No, not real. Just very authentically created. Ang Lee has, as you said, hinted that they are real, but that's just been to fuel the controversy.

Thats very rare to find in any movies, they almost never are really having sex, although there has been a couple movies where they were, dunno what they're called though
