I don't understand why people hate them. People say because of the story, I've never really cared for story in a movie if the movie was entertaining I liked it. But the story seemed the samed in both sequels to me but I still don't understand why people hate them.

The Matrix: Reloaded is just about as good as a sequel can get, its almost equal to the first, great special effects, great action, great fights
Neo vs. Smith army (even though its clearly obvious that some of it was CGI, but I didn't mind).
Morpheus vs. Agent Johnson
Vampire Chateau fight all of the fights were good but those were the best in my opinion

The Matrix: Revolutions. I will agree that it is the weakest of the trilogy but it was still a great movie (it could've been better but still good). We don't have as much action I didn't mind the battle for Zion but Neo vs. Smith MORE than made up for it in my opinion (in my opinion its the best fight in the whole trilogy).

that is probably your problem with judging movies in first place. There are criteria that makes a movie good and some are value more than others. If a movie is in 3d does that make it a better movie? Honest answer no, it could point more towards the movie is lacking and had to bring something extra to make people watch movie.

Story of the matrix was a great a philosophical one that could be appreciated as vastly more depth movie than just action and guns, which can reach out to greater audience, hence being a better movie in general.

The first one was great because whole story revolved around changing the system and ending the war. With the ending we saw glimpse of how Neo able to break the rules. After that is great end because we can speculate to what happens next, we didn't need to see it.

The other two movies were horrible because now were being told what he could and couldn't do and ends up all he does is fly and beat up agents.

The ending of series what completely retard, whole point was that this was a war about humans being able to exist and destroy the prison they have been held in Matrix. But instead they make peace treaty, the only reason machines can exist is because they feed off humans so peace is worthless one that easily can and would be broken in future. Not only that they were less than few minutes away from ending war from there point of view so they had all the reasons to betray them as well.

It was completely illogical movie and could be credit as bad man movie which is equivalent of chick flick. And if you have seen chick flicks you know how horrible movies can be.

Honestly? Their expectations from the first film ruined the sequels. They never gave them a chance. It's no wonder that there's a big movement around the web these days of people realizing that the sequels are in fact as amazing as the original. This is due to 1 main reason:

- People born after 1999 (or people who have just now in 2014 seen them) are not blown away by the Matrix 1 anymore. So they didn't build up ridiculous expectations for years of the insane things Neo was going to pull off in the sequels. So, watching 1,2, and 3 back to back makes for one of the greatest stories in movie history. I'm glad people are finally realizing they're good.

The Matrix was well thought out and intricate. You could tell they took the time to craft it into something special. Then with the sequels, my theory is that the producers just got so full of themselves with the success of The Matrix that all they had to do was put the name on the sequel and people would buy it. They took less time to think out the stories and focused more on the money to be made. The matrix fight scenes were revolutionary for its time. Hollywood knew that people were highly interested in the fight scenes. Thus, more fight scenes and less story equals why people hate sequels.

I didn't like Reloaded the 1st time I saw it. After watching it again and thinking more about the dialogue I liked it more each time I saw it. I liked how it went deeper into the "mind" of the Matrix with the new characters like the Merovingian, Keymaker, and the Architect. I thought it was very well concieved and considered.

The first one was without a doubt the best one, but I didn't hate the sequels. The story isn't great in any of the movies. In fact, it's kinda stupid. But I too was entertained.

My beef with them is based around the fact that they were unnecessary (like most sequels are).

The first Matrix covered everything and ended perfectly, they didn't need to add anything to it.

Probably because people only prefer one frame over the entire picture.

all of them are just violent garbage with an unbelievable story that has nothing to do with getting the violence on screen(the main purpose of these and other movies) even sci-fi and fantasy must have a logic or believability behind it, apparently you just like looking at violence but your description as "great action" means we must have been looking at different movies
