I watch mostly television series, movies, and concerts. I decided that cable TV wasn't worth the money about a year ago and replaced it with netflix. I've been watching mostly DVD box sets of TV shows, rock concerts, and movies from them. I love it, however in the last month for some reason the service has been much slower than normal. They say its because I'm renting stuff that isn't very popular so there aren't copies at my distribution center. Would Blockbuster be better or not? I'm hoping this is only a temporary problem with netflix, because usually their service is timely and they have a great selection. I did complain about this month and they were good enough to refund my money.

Netflix slows down (throttles) their service. Netflix advertises unlimited rentals yet throttles service i.e. shipping and inventory allocation. Specifically they hold the shipment of next titles when they have already received a return. It is in their terms of service agreement however if you contact customer service about the issue most of their own employees are unaware of the policy. I currently have Netflix and Blockbuster online and the are about the same. The both slow down service if you rent many titles hence the reason for having both with the 3 out at a time option.

By the way, netflix was doing the movie online thing way before blockbuster. Blockbuster got the idea from netflix because they were losing a lot of customers to netflix. I still say netflix hands down. I have never had a problem and I have found a lot more movies that I wanted to see at netflix.

Netflix is so much better than Blockbuster. Netflix ships alot faster with better services. Blockbuster doesn't have a clue of what they are doing!!!!!!!

Netflix is more reliable but blockbuster gives you coupons to get films from your local brick and morter blockbuster. Both have timing problems when renting older, less common videos as they have to ship them from a central location rather than the closer shipping site. They probably also require more manual handling.

i choose Netflix over blockbuster anytime.

I heard Blockbuster practice censorship. They cut inappropriate or graphic scenes off the original DVD.

I don't like watching censored movies.

I am all for the rating and I believe that no minor should watch rated R movie..

but I am not a minor..

and I want to c a movie the way the director wants me to c it.
