Okay, so I'm having a LOTR marathon for myself and have a few questions. A) What are the two blue wizards names? B) Is Lady Gladeril relate to Lord Elrond? C) WHY DIDN'T THEY TAKE THE FRICKING GIANT EAGLES TO MORDOR INSTEAD OF WALKING THE WHOLE WAY?! D) What's the importance of that waterfall in gondor that Gollum "defoulled"? E) What the hell is wrong with the steward of Gondor? (Boramire and Faramire's father). Thanks!

A) The blue ones are only hinted at in the movie, but I think they are Alatar and Pallando. With the other 3 wizards being Gandolf, Saruman and Radagast.

B) She's kind of related. Her daughter married Elrond and bore Arwen as their child.

C) They were on vacation for awhile. It's a lot of stressful work being giant eagles

D) I'm actually not sure on this one

E) Too many things to count. Mainly he got used to having the power of ruling Gondor and didn't want to let it go I'd say. Not really familiar with his life story though.

The Blue....here's more on them and their various namesa; http://www.maujai.net/amare/documents/characters/pallando.pdf

Others have answered your questions, I will suggest you read the books so you can spell the main character's names correctly...Tolkien is ALL about more gooder English.

Gladeril is Galadriel

Boramire is Boromir

Faramire is Faramir

A) Morinehtar and Romestamo. All wizards had many names, but these were the two names that most peoples of Middle Earth would use.

B) Galadriel is Elrond's mother-in-law.

C) Eagles would have been too conspicuous, and would have been spotted by Sauron. Recall that the eagles were able to rescue Sam and Frodo only after the Ring was destroyed and Sauron's power (and his body) were gone.

D) The waterfall conceals the secret entrance to Henneth Annun, a hidden refuge used for rangers. Gollum was really in trouble for entering the Forbidden Pool at the bottom of the waterfall. The penalty for entering the Forbidden Pool was death, since from there one might discover the secret entrance.

E) Denethor had suffered depression ever since the death of his wife, about 30 years before the events of LOTR. After that time, he secretly used a Palantir to spy on Sauron, and his depression worsened as he saw how powerful Sauron was becoming. Sauron in turn used the Palantir to drive Denethor further into depression and make him more than a little insane. His madness got even worse when his oldest son, Boromir, died. The injuries to his other son, Faramir, were the last straw. Denethor thought Faramir's injuries were fatal, and utterly despairing of any hope of surviving Sauron's onslaught, saving Minas Tirith, or leaving any progeny, he opted to commit suicide.
